ICF is a practical next step for builders, and you don’t have to make the transition alone.

On this build by WNC Builders in Bryson City, Blue Ridge ICF supplied the materials and provided on-site consulting for wall stacking and the concrete pour. Our builder consulting program can include takeoff help, material supply, stacking guidance and pour-day support, helping crews build confidence with ICF on their own projects.

The photos show the basement walls being filled, with the boom pump provided by HFK Corporation. MST Bar fiberglass rebar and Stronghold ICF are part of the build.

The Green Mountain shell build basement is going up quickly. The walls are fully stacked and braced, with pour day planned for Monday. The site is set for the work ahead, from the Stronghold ICF forms and Superior Walls Alignment bracing the interior to the main floor ICF staged among the trees. Fall color is showing across the Blue Ridge Mountains and it's a great time to be working outside!

Footers are prepped and ready to pour today! Since we are using MST bar, we are able to wet set the #5 vertical bars as just straight cut dowels with 8" of embedment due to the much higher bond strength of MST. This saves a significant amount of labor and time and makes it easier to get a level dirt poured footer when not having to work around pre tied verticals. The stucco finish is complete at the little ICF home, with black trim and windows now setting off the exterior. The carport canopy over the entry is in place, and interior finish work is under way.

Painted drywall is finished in areas, electrical outlets and trim are going in, and the bathroom tub and shower surround are set. Cabinets and vanities and flooring will be going on soon.

Yesterday, Blue Ridge ICF spent the day on a custom home builder’s job site, training their crew as they transition to ICF construction for the homes they build.

We provided Stronghold Block, bracing rentals, MST Bar fiberglass rebar, Strongtie ICFVL brackets, and a full day of hands-on instruction using their own project. Training on site helps crews get comfortable with stacking, reinforcing, bracing, and pour-day preparation before taking on ICF work independently.
