Beautiful day in WNC for framing a roof over an existing flat roof house. The client decided they wanted to cover their roof top deck with a pitched roof for more year round usable space, and we love building a stick framed roof when we get the chance!

Hey WNC! Some of you already know our story, but for those who are just now learning who we are, I'd love to introduce ourselves! I'm Micah, and I'm the owner of Blue Ridge ICF, a custom home building company and concrete poured wall subcontracting crew as well. I personally have almost 18 years of Firefighting and EMS experience. Multiple members of our crew came up fighting fires and responding to disasters, and after enough years of that you start thinking hard about how houses are actually built. So now we build the kind of home we'd want our own families in — concrete walls that stand up to fire and high wind, stay quiet and comfortable inside, and cost a fraction to heat and cool. We get a lot of questions about how to run electrical in the ICF walls. It's pretty simple! We use an electric chainsaw to route out where the wires go and boxes can be tapcon'd in or screw to webs (my electricians prefer to tapcon them in).
