🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

We are thrilled to officially announce the arrival of one of the rarest species ever to join our farm: Giant Red-and-White Flying Squirrels! Their species name is Petaurista alborufus.

These breathtaking animals are among the largest flying squirrels in the world and are exceptionally uncommon in zoological collections. Very few facilities in North America have the privilege of working with this species, making this a truly special milestone for us.

Their incredible coloration, impressive size, and ability to glide through the forest canopy make them one of the most unique mammals on the planet. To say we're honored to care for them would be an understatement.

For those of you who have participated in our VIP encounters over the past several months, you may already have had the chance to meet these remarkable animals before today's official announcement. Thank you for helping us welcome them as they settled into their new home and for being part of this exciting chapter.

Every once in a while, an opportunity comes along that reminds us just how fortunate we are to do what we do. Being entrusted with the care of such a rare and extraordinary species is one of those moments, and we are incredibly grateful.
We look forward to sharing more photos, videos, and educational opportunities featuring these amazing squirrels in the future.

Welcome to the family, Giant Red-and-White Flying Squirrels!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out over the weekend! We are calling it a night 😴🦦

We introduced Tripp earlier this week as one of our newest fox residents, because we actually have four new foxes calling us home.

Copper and Wilder joined us the same day as Tripp and came from the same facility. Just a few days later we were contacted to see if we could take in another surrender, whom we have named Everest.

Copper, Everest, and Wilder will be joining our fox encounters this fall (if not sooner). For now, they will be inside with us and training for their new roles as ambassadors.

We haven’t done a Kiwi update in a minute. He is still hanging out with our muntjac deer, Mushu. He continues to improve health wise and we are getting closer to an amputation date. He’s just been a walking medical crisis since he arrived. He’s is so much more active these days, which is a great sign, so hopefully we will be able to get his surgery scheduled and help him improve even more.

Have you heard of Striped Possums? Sometimes called Indonesian Striped Possums? Let me introduce our two new ambassador possums, Java and Buddha.

Native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and northeastern Australia, striped possums are one of the most unusual marsupials in the world. Their striking black-and-white coat helps them stand out, and they have a specially adapted long finger that they use to tap on trees and pull insects from hidden tunnels. They also feed on nectar, pollen, and tree sap.

Striped Possums are often referred to one of the rarest seen marsupial in the world. We can’t wait to share them more with you.

Good morning from Xena and Xander, the tamanduas. Check out Xenas yawn!
Tamanduas have 15-16 inch long tongues with tiny backward-pointing papillae. Combined with large salivary glands that produce thick, sticky saliva, their tongue is the ultimate tool to collect ants in termites.

If you’ve been here recently you have probably noticed, Atlas has gained a new friend. Let me introduce Tripp, one of our newest red fox residents.

Tripp wasn’t planned but he is everything we could ever ask for. He shies away from people, and that is totally ok with us. We have been trying to get Atlas paired up with some of our other foxes, but it just hasn’t been working out, until now. Atlas and Tripp are perfect for each other. While there will not be any direct encounters with them, you will be able to see them during the tour portion of your encounter.

Evening kinkajou hangout session.

We have an agreement to work around each other and not with each other. Kinkajous are just one animal that you can’t completely trust. They are very unpredictable and have a heck of a bite when they want to.
