Some of the best partnerships begin with shared values.
PV Squared Solar and Austin Design Cooperative Inc have a lot in common.

We're both worker-owned. We're both rooted here in Western Massachusetts. And we both spend our days creating things we hope will serve people for decades.

For the latest installment of Powered by the Sun, United by Purpose, we sat down with our friends at Austin Design to talk about worker ownership, thoughtful succession, sustainable design, and what it means to build something worth passing on.

We believe sustianability is about building organizations, relationships, and local knowledge that can last for generations.

Different disciplines. Shared values. A long-term view.

Tonight!

Coming up! Catch this month’s Architecture + Design Film Series pick: THE AUTOMAT, showing on Wednesday, April 22nd, at 6:30 pm.
🎥
Originating in Philadelphia, Horn & Hardart's Automat was America's original and most beloved restaurant chain where generations of Americans ate and drank coffee at elegant communal marble tables, free from social barriers. Pie? Coffee? Put your nickel in, then open the little glass door to a freshly made delight. The Automat illustrates how the company served the public great food and at the same time treated its employees with fairness and integrity. The legacy of the Automat spans a century, chronicling its rise as an iconic restaurant chain that inspired Starbucks and its eventual decline, sealed by the rise of fast food that forever transformed the American dining landscape.
