Charlestown Brownstone, Reimagined

We love a good before and after here at Compass Kitchens - especially when a historic Charlestown brownstone gets a kitchen that finally fits the way a modern family lives. The original space was full of charm but short on function, so opening the wall to the dining room completely changed the flow and sight lines for this growing household.

For cabinetry, Waypoint was the perfect fit: budget-conscious, flexible, and willing to lean into color. When Renee saw the sage green, she knew - and after a few renderings, the whole kitchen embraced that beautiful hue.

Keeping the exposed brick, the original floors, and layering in checkerboard tile and floating shelves let us honor the home’s character while giving it a fresh, thoughtful update. And with Mary Johnson for Kitchen Designer - Cabinets leading the design vision, the space found its perfect balance of personality and preservation.

Collaborating with a client who has great style made this transformation one of our favorites.
