Some projects are about more than just the finished space. 🌊🌲

We’re soaking up the last stretch of summer finishing up this lakefront transformation — bringing together retaining walls, functional landscaping, and outdoor living to create a space that’s beautiful, usable, and built for years of summers by the water.

This one is especially meaningful because we’ve had the opportunity to work with these homeowners before. When planning this next phase, there was one piece we knew needed to stay: a special rock stairway designed by the customer’s father. Rather than working around it, we incorporated it into the new design so it could remain part of the property and its story.

Those personal details are what turn a project into something truly unique to the people who call it home.

Summer may be winding down, but there’s still plenty happening Up North Hardscapes— and we’re grateful to build spaces where memories, old and new, can stick around.

This is a big transformation already — and we’re not done yet!

We’ve been busy on Grindstone Lake, rebuilding this lakefront property to be stronger, cleaner, and better suited for years of Minnesota lake life.

This project has included major retaining wall work, new stairs, extensive site work, and plenty of problem solving along the way. When you’re working on a lakefront property with steep grades and tight spaces, every detail matters.
