After designing Florida homes for this longtime client, we were excited to trade sunshine and waterfront views for towering trees, cozy woods and a little Northern Michigan magic.

Who says a narrow home can’t make a big architectural statement?

On this waterfront design, the challenge was to build vertically while still taking full advantage of the view. The modern architecture turns those constraints into strengths.
Flat roof forms allow us to maximize interior volume, including a 14-foot ceiling in the upper-level great room, while large expanses of glass open the living spaces toward the view. Balconies, overhangs, material changes, and strong horizontal lines help break down the height of the home and give the elevation proportion and depth.

The result is a tall, narrow home that feels intentional rather than constrained.

Modern design isn’t just about how a house looks. Sometimes it’s the architectural language that makes the site work.

Designed to capture both sides of island living, this exceptional Bradenton Beach residence places the main living areas and premier primary suite toward expansive sunrise views across Sarasota Bay.

The primary suite includes a private covered deck, creating a secluded retreat overlooking the water. Above, the rooftop deck and pool provide a dramatic setting to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.

The home features approximately 4,100 square feet of air-conditioned living space, a soaring 14-foot ceiling in the main living room, six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, a three-car garage, a ground-level pool and a second pool on the rooftop deck.

A one-of-a-kind coastal home created in collaboration with EBG, Elements and Sato Real Estate.
