Introducing , a new series highlighting the people behind NDC. They are a part of what makes us different, and this series helps us shine a spotlight on each of them. Every team member brings experiences and perspectives that shape the way we work.
For our first installment, meet Chris Gray, Vice President and Project Executive.
Long before Chris was leading construction projects, he was working in Manatee County's cabinet shop. His team traveled throughout the county, fixing what was broken, renovating spaces, and helping county staff with whatever they needed. That hands-on experience taught Chris the skill set needed to do his work today and gave him a deep understanding of how things are built. It taught him to pay attention to the details and take pride in doing the work right.
One lesson from those early days has stayed with him: "Use the tools you have, and if you don't have them, go get them."
For Chris, the lesson goes beyond the tools themselves. When a challenge arises, the team is the greatest resource. Bringing the right people together, drawing on their expertise, and working toward a solution in unison is what fosters success.
This is how Chris leads teams across the region while they build important spaces for communities like the new Bradenton Police Department headquarters and the newly opened Reserve on Bahia Vista apartments. His early years at the cabinet shop taught him an approach to construction that continues to shape the way he leads at NDC.
