Snowbird season is starting. The house has been shut since spring, the AC has been keeping itself company all summer, and the geckos have probably claimed a room or two.

Your 12-foot inflatable pumpkin deserves better than three indoor extension cords and a prayer.

Before the yard turns into a haunted house, plug outdoor decorations into a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet, use cords rated for outdoor use, and don't chain them together. If the outlet is dead, trips constantly, or has a broken cover, that's an easy fix for us.

A Level 2 charger on its own 240-volt circuit can top off most cars overnight. The catch is it has to go in right: the right breaker, the right wire, and a panel with room for it.
