Employee Highlight! Meet Tori Thayer, Maintenance Technician Lead.
Originally from Rochester, New York, Tori has been part of the BTi team for two and a half years, where she leads one of our annual maintenance crews. She's the kind of person who genuinely loves the work— catching up with familiar clients, traveling to new places, and sinking her teeth into a good chinking project.
Before she ever touched a log home, Tori was in a kitchen. She earned her bachelor's degree in Culinary Management and worked as a chef— a background that might surprise you, but makes a certain kind of sense. It takes patience, precision, and pride in the finished product. Sounds about right.
The love of food hasn't gone anywhere. Outside of work, Tori enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, hitting the gym, playing video games, and spending time with friends, her boyfriend Joe, and her two dogs, or unwinding with a good book in a hot tub.
Her favorite Montana season? Fall. Yhe weather, the food, and, in her words, "the spooky vibes." Her truck playlist runs from The SteelDrivers to System of a Down, and mornings require both coffee and an energy drink. No negotiating.
Her advice for log homeowners is straightforward: "Keep up on yearly maintenance. Don't DIY. Let the pros handle it."
