We are thrilled to share that our Bozeman Cohousing project has received a Design Excellence Citation Award from the Montana American Institute of Architects. This recognition reflects a collaborative effort devoted to community, sustainability, and thoughtful planning.

Our team at inContour is proud to have contributed to the community planning and to have led the master planning and landscape design for this visionary development.
From early participatory workshops with future residents to the creation of shared outdoor spaces that pushed the boundaries of local City of Bozeman code to support connection and low impact living, the project embodies the values that make cohousing so meaningful.

Communities of every size, like Ennis Montana, deserve playgrounds that feel welcoming, safe, and full of life. Many small cities and towns work hard to revitalize aging play areas, strengthen community identity, and make the most of limited budgets. Thoughtful design supports those goals by creating play spaces that are cost effective, durable, and meaningful to both residents and visitors.

With the right planning and design support, these projects become long term community assets that encourage connection, active play, and local pride. Serving these communities is what we love to do! We cannot wait to see the Ennis Lions Club Park Playground Renewal project become a vibrant space for the community. The Bozeman Water Conservation Commercial Property Project highlights inContour’s expertise in sustainable design and regulatory compliance. This project involved creating two comprehensive landscape and irrigation plan sets for the City of Bozeman. One set adhered to the current city code, while the other followed the proposed standards from the draft standards manual.

The designs incorporated drought-tolerant plants and advanced irrigation technologies to compare water efficiency and cost-effectiveness between the two approaches. Detailed line-item opinions of probable cost were prepared to quantify the financial implications of each plan, identifying the potential increase in costs to meet the proposed code.

Our team efficiently ran these designs through both codes, which served as a litmus test for the proposed version, ensuring the plan met the new requirements and the City of Bozeman’s water conservation goals. By providing high-quality visuals, detailed schedules, and a clear comparison of existing and proposed standards, this project supported informed decision-making for the City of Bozeman's Water Conservation Division.

This project reflects inContour’s commitment to delivering practical, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for municipal projects and commercial developments while contributing to the City's long-term environmental goals.
