Hello plant lovers! I wanted to introduce myself to my new followers and show y'all who the face is behind The Texas Rose 💐

My name is Lydia and I am a born and raised Texan, hence my company name. My love for plants started when I worked at a farmers' market and challenged myself to save the plants that were about to be thrown away.

From that first introduction, I researched everything on every plant I could, figuring out the most ideal environments for them to flourish in. Plants became my life. My college dorm was a jungle! I had so many, but also the freshest air on campus 😆

My husband Kaz and I got married in December 2024, then moved to Bozeman three weeks later. I have fallen in love with the mountains and snow!

I started my plant services business last September, and I absolutely love what I do. From watering to pruning, installations to repotting, I get to do what I’m passionate for every day 🌿

Like people, sometimes plants need to take a step back before they can move forward and grow. 🌱

This bonsai belongs to a client who grew it from a seed. The tree was perfectly healthy until one fall when the heat was turned off in the office and temperatures dropped down to 50 degrees. With the extreme cold plus turning the heat into the 80s for a few weeks, the bonsai tree went into shock and began losing its leaves.

But all was not lost. To help bring the tree back, I trimmed the branches down, grow it under a special light and with some time and TLC, the bonsai is perfectly healthy and very happy.

Not every struggling plant needs to be replaced. Sometimes it just needs the right conditions to recover.

This week’s client spotlight goes to a beautiful brand we have been working with for almost a year now!✨

Since our first installation, I've fine-tuned their plant selection to match their style, lighting, and each unique space. As they've grown, I've replaced artificial plants with live ones, repotted plants as they've flourished, installed grow lights in darker areas, and even helped a few employees add plants to their offices and homes.

Every week, I stop by to water and maintain the plants, monitor their health, and provide fertilization and pest management as needed to keep everything thriving.
