We’ve been quiet for the last three weeks about this project, but we promise it’s only because we’ve been up to our hard hats in progress! 🚧👷‍♂️

The Western Dakota Tech Radlab upgrade is moving fast. The first week of August, we were staring at bare concrete floors and unpainted walls. Fast forward to the last week of August, and we’ve got fresh paint on the walls, finished flooring laid down, and all the specialized lab equipment already rolling in and being assembled.

We are proud to be the general contractor in charge of this project! The ground breaking is this afternoon! Every journey starts with the first step and today is step 1!

We’ve had several people ask what the new fire Station, police substation and city park will look like, so we wanted to share a rendering of the project.

The new station will bring fire and police services together in one location near Homestead Street and Neel Street, while the adjacent city park will provide green space, walking paths and recreational opportunities for the growing east side of Rapid City.

Groundbreaking is set for Monday, August 24, at 2 p.m. We’re excited to see this project move from plans on paper to construction and, eventually, a new public safety resource and community space for Rapid City.

August 19th marked the ribbon-cutting for the new Black Hills Works residence on Chief Drive! ✂️🎉

Our team provided the structure and the clean slate, but the incredible residents and staff are the ones turning it into a true home. We’re honored to partner on a space that means so much to our local community.

Thirty minutes after the official sunrise, the sun finally managed to cut through this thick layer of wildfire smoke.

It didn’t know I was standing out here watching it struggle, and it didn't care. It had a job to do, so it did it.
