Kentucky Rural Water Association "Helping water and wastewater utilities help themselves."

Kentucky Rural Water member utilities guarantee an enhanced quality of life for
nearly ninety-five percent (95%) of the public drinking water and wastewater
customers across the Commonwealth of Kentucky, making KRWA the largest
utility organization of the state. KRWA was established in 1979 as a private,
non-profit organization by a core group of utility leaders who shared the vision
of build

ing a self-governed, member driven association. Their original goal –
to foster professionalism in our industry through non-regulatory training,
technical assistance programs, and advocacy – continues to this day.

We are proud to work alongside organizations like WaterStep that are helping protect communities during times of crisis. 🤝

WaterStep is currently supporting Ebola response efforts through local disinfectant production and community partnerships in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with plans to expand these critical efforts in Phase 3.

If you are able, we encourage you to support their mission and consider donating to help continue these efforts: https://waterstep.org/get-involved/donate/

Edmonson County Water District is one of the utilities we’re proud to serve at KRWA, and we’re excited to see this investment coming to their system.

More than $23 million in federal funding will support upgrades to their water treatment plant, helping strengthen reliability and ensure safe, dependable service for the community for years to come. This is a great example of what happens when local utilities and their state and federal partners work together on critical infrastructure needs.

We appreciate the continued support and collaboration with our congressional delegation and local leaders who help make projects like this possible across Kentucky.

Thank you to Congressman Brett Guthrie, Senator Mitch McConnell, Senator David Givens, Representative Michael Meredith, Judge/Executive Scott Lindsey, and the Edmonson County Water District for their work and partnership on this project.

When emergencies happen, preparation becomes everything.

Yesterday, operators gathered in Carrollton, KY, for Mobile Water Treatment During Disaster Response training. This hands-on session focused on H5 Emergency Response & Security Training, with a live demonstration of WaterStep’s WOWCart and its ability to turn high-turbidity source water into safe, chlorinated drinking water!

The training was led by Kurtis Daniels and Steve Combest with WaterStep, with Carrollton Utilities and local partners in attendance.

Special thanks to 502 Equipment for providing lunch and to Dustin Strupp with WaterStep for capturing the photos from the day.

A great turnout and valuable discussions as utilities continue strengthening emergency response readiness across Kentucky!💧
