The Chicago Architecture Center recently installed Bird Divert Clear UV as part of Flyway City: Architecture for a Flourishing Ecosystem, an exhibition developed with Studio Gang. Located along the Mississippi Flyway, Chicago is an important passage for millions of migrating birds. For a building devoted to architecture and design, the solution needed to reduce bird-window collisions while maintaining the clean appearance of the façade.

When people think about bird-glass collisions, national parks probably aren't the first places that come to mind. But even in some of the world’s most protected landscapes, glass can be a serious threat to birds.

A case in point is Zion National Park.

A few years ago, park staff and volunteers began documenting bird-window collisions at buildings throughout the Park. Eventually, through the Windows for Wildlife initiative, Bird Divert Clear UV markers were installed on high-risk windows at Zion National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument.
