This bathroom was originally beset with several inconveniences that surfaced for our clients every day. Traditional hinged doors swung into already limited floor space, fixtures created tight transition points, and the existing plumbing kept the vanity and shower confined to an arrangement that did not make the best use of the room. Limited natural light made the bathroom feel even more enclosed, and cold winters up in Pine Brook Hills meant that a cold floor added one more unwelcome jolt to the morning routine.
None of these problems was dramatic on its own. Together, however, they created a room that felt cramped, dim, and frustratingly complicated to navigate.
We reconfigured the floorplan, relocated plumbing, replaced the swinging doors with two space-saving pocket doors, and installed a new window to bring in daylight. Now with natural light, mountain views, and alder doors and trim, there’s a stronger connection to both the mountain setting and the cabin vibes throughout the rest of the home. And the radiant heat beneath the tile floors makes the finished space as enjoyable as it is beautiful, a comforting touch the owners now say they never knew how they lived without.
The result is a bathroom that’s brighter, warmer, and easier to live in. Proof that resolving small frustrations can completely change the experience of a room.
