With complex technical and code hurdles, a fast timeline, and a limited budget, the team focused on what mattered most: crafting a layout and architectural moments that make every guest feel like they have the best seat in the house. The result was an award-winning space—repeatedly cited for its original, dynamic ambiance.
That success sparked what came next.
Japango Fort Collins—a recently completed remodel of the brand’s second location—brings that same “best seat” philosophy to a historic building on Fort Collins’ main drag. Guests arrive to a bespoke reception and waiting area with dramatic lighting and warm, tactile materials inspired by the artistry of Japango’s food. Inside, the experience unfolds across cozy booths, raised lounges, high-tops that open to a streetside patio, a bold front bar, and a glass-walled private dining room lit by origami-crane chandeliers. Anchoring it all: a serene blue-tiled sushi bar, plus signature moments like the bamboo-grove path to the restrooms and the cylindrical jellyfish tank.
