We had an incredible visit to the Ketchikan Indian Community this week to attend the opening ceremony for Yee gu.aa yax xˈwán, a new Permanent Supportive Housing project designed by MRV architects. This project will serve unhoused Tribal and non-Tribal elders in Ketchikan, Alaska. Additionally, we witnessed the public announcement and unveiling of S’eenáa Hít, a navigation center designed by Ferguson Pyatt, which shares the site with Yee gu.aa yax xˈwán. Together, these two buildings will support the local community and embody the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian culture

Great site visit today to mark the substantial completion milestone for the new Medicine Root District government building! Once open, the facility will feature much-needed office space, a multipurpose room for community events, a commercial kitchen, and a full basketball court. Love seeing the teamwork on this project for the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
