Every project has details that go beyond aesthetics. Some are rooted in the history, culture, and traditions of the place they call home. We believe great design is about more than creating beautiful places. It’s about understanding the character, history, and identity of a destination and weaving those stories into the experience.

At Riverton Pointe Clubhouse, the ceilings of the outdoor porch and grill are painted haint blue, a distinctive Lowcountry tradition believed to ward off restless spirits and protect those within. Subtle yet meaningful, this design detail connects the clubhouse to the rich cultural heritage of the Southeast while creating a sense of place unique to the community.

Meet Peyton Mahoney, Designer and Assistant Project Manager. Peyton draws inspiration from the natural landscape, finding creativity in the colors, textures, and seasonal changes that shape the world around us.

Among her favorite DTJ projects is Richardson Park in Berthoud, Colorado, where she had the opportunity to help create a community-focused space designed to serve as a resort-style aquatic complex, ranch-themed baseball/softball tournament complex, and multi-purposed fields. She also cites OCT's Fantasy Valley in Xiangyang, China, as a project that embodies DTJ's spirit of creativity and storytelling through design.

Guided by the belief that "what's done well today is done better tomorrow," Peyton brings thoughtfulness, creativity, and a passion for meaningful places to every project she touches.
