We are thrilled by the changes taking place in this mid-century modern residence.

During the deconstruction process, we were unexpectedly delighted to discover that the original, fun finishes remained intact beneath the surface. This distinctive mid-century modern home is set to undergo its third transformation, breathing new life into its design. This renovation will be executed in collaboration with Hammerwell Inc, HMH Architecture + Interiors, and Marpa Landscape Architecture. ⁠

This is a unique opportunity for the public to walk the job site, meet the team, and learn more about high-performance construction in the Colorado high country. Hosted by the Colorado Green Building Guild.

The Sunset Residence pool. A welcome escape from the 90+ degree temps in Boulder this week. This pool and spa can be used year round as they are supported by a solar thermal heating system. The solar thermal system also heats the house via in floor radiant as well as the domestic hot water.

The mountains are calling! Hammerwell took Exceptional Custom to a new elevation on this project with out of our Salida office. Featuring a super insulated air tight building envelope leveraging offsite manufactured panelized structural components, high performance windows and doors, and right sized mechanical systems. At elevation in extreme conditions outside of Leadville this house is both comfortable, quiet, healthy, and durable. The home is also extremely energy efficient…
