A few inspiring days in Aspen 🍂

Grateful to join fellow architects at the Aspen Art Museum for Architecture for the Next 150, imagining the future of Colorado’s built environment.

I shared something close to my heart: architecture should perform not only physically, but emotionally. Protection, connection, and freedom are fundamental human needs that thoughtful design can nurture.

I came home inspired by the conversations and reminded of why I fell in love with architecture.

Linden breaks ground! 🌳🚜

After months of drawing, coordinating, permitting, and making decisions on paper, it’s always a little surreal to finally see a project become a hole in the ground. A very big hole.

What makes Linden special is that we’re not building on a blank site. The property is full of beautiful mature trees, and from the beginning, the house was designed around them—not the other way around.

Right now, excavation, grading, foundation elevations, and tree protection are all coming together. Some of the decisions that will eventually feel effortless are being made while everything still looks like dirt.

Architecture starts long before the pretty finishes go in.

There is nothing quite like watching a home come alive as the sun dips below the mountains, painting everything in amber and warmth.We can’t wait to share the final love letter to this space. It took two years and two months to get to this point—a hole in the ground, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work to get here.

I still remember climbing onto the roof of the old building to take in the views and imagine what this could become.

Now we begin the next phase. If all goes as planned, in another two years this home will come to life.

Architecture takes time—but each step brings us closer to our vision.

Our Listening Room at Freewheel Residence just took home the WOW Factor Room award for Colorado + the Rockies in the 2025 LUXE RED Awards ceremony in Chicago last night— and we’re so proud!
This space was a passion project — rich, moody, immersive — and it means so much to see it recognized in a field full of amazing design from across the region.

Just wrapped up an incredible three days in DC at the AIA Leadership Summit with my fellow members and leaders from across the country! I’m proud of what our group has accomplished—engaging in breakout sessions, gaining leadership insights from inspiring keynote speakers, and advocating for our profession on Capitol Hill. Sharing our personal experiences on the impact of federal policy with congressmen, house representatives, and industry advocates during Hill Day was truly impactful. Grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape the future of our profession!
