This Wednesday, a group of us went on a to New Haven. We visited Yale Center of British Art and the Yale University Art Gallery. It was a treat to see JMW Turner sketches!

We also had a great time hanging out with Yale MFA grads and seeing their studios. Thank you for sharing with us your space and work! ✌️🚘🍕

We are happy to inform everyone that Aliza Nisenbaum is our visiting artist tonight! Aliza's work is currently on view in the Whitney Biennial. Often painting subjects in front of her--still lifes of flowers or written correspondence, or portraits of undocumented immigrants living in New York--Aliza is motivated by the act of attention as a form of empathy. So come and bring a friend!

Artist Vishal Jugdeo will present his work at our MFA lecture series this coming Tuesday, April 4. The multimedia work of Judgeo addresses the power dynamics between language, image and things in the world. The elements in his work serve as both indexical and theatrical entities creating a complex relationship between the subject and the object. It accepts the history of film and video as a readymade to complicate or to suspend our understanding of the familiar.
