We’re thrilled to announce that Denargo Market has been honored as a finalist for the 2026 Fast Company Innovation by Design Award in the Urban Design category! 🦏

Denargo Market is one of Denver’s most ambitious investments in urban neighborhood development, challenging the conventional sequence by introducing a new model: build the neighborhood before the buildings.

By designing and delivering urban infrastructure and public spaces upfront, Denargo Market establishes a fully functional neighborhood framework and transforms underutilized land into an all-day destination, laying the groundwork for three million square feet of mixed-use development and thousands of new residents.

ISay hello to our new digs in Denver! In the six years since we opened our Denver office, the team has grown from two to forty, and we’ve worked on projects both local and national, spanning district and master plans, campus planning efforts, and major civic initiatives.

Our new space is on the top floor of the historic Kittredge Building in the heart of downtown Denver. Renovated by a team of in-house designers to align with the firm’s ethos, our airy, light-filled office is enlivened on all sides by panoramic views of the city and the Front Range. 🏙️🏔️

On Friday, September 25, we’ll also be sharing our space with the Denver architecture community as part of Denver Architecture Foundation Doors Open Denver–swing by and see what we’ve been up to!

As the World Cup moves into the knockout stage, we’re looking back at the moments that made Boston’s FIFA Fan Festival so fun and memorable. During the competition’s first stage, Boston welcomed fans from across the city and around the world to watch each match together in the heart of the city.

City Hall Plaza is designed to be flexible and accommodate a wide range of activities—from the everyday visit to epic moments like the World Cup. Our redesign sought to make the plaza a more human-scale, accessible public space with increased amenities. We’re proud to see the plaza used as a home base for international gatherings like this one. ⚽

What does it look like when ecology and campus design come together?

Sasaki principal Tao Zhang offers a closer look at the landscape design details of Xinyang University’s South Bay Campus Gateway, where outdoor learning environments and recreational spaces intertwine with stormwater management and wildlife habitats.

Born out of Sasaki’s XYU Campus Master Plan, the new South Bay campus is a living classroom with a functional and evocative landscape that emphasizes interaction and experiential learning.

One of the project’s defining features is the terraced waterway. By merging the region’s agricultural heritage with ecological stormwater management strategies, the waterway effectively purifies runoff. It simultaneously restores the landscape and offers space for all to enjoy an ecologically rich campus experience.

Earlier this week, we celebrated the opening of the Eduardo Garza T. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub at Tecnológico de Monterrey. This milestone represents a major step in the institution’s commitment to supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry partnerships.

Sasaki has worked with Tecnológico de Monterrey to define a new innovation ecosystem, creating a master plan that bridges higher education, research, and the private sector. Following the opening of the neighboring Expedition FEMSA Building in 2024, the Hub is set to be a vibrant epicenter where entrepreneurial ambition meets real-world application. Flexible workspaces, specialized laboratories, and a central forum support cross-disciplinary interaction and iterative prototyping. The design’s emphasis on visibility and adaptability makes collaboration and social exchange a defining feature.

We’re excited to see the Tec community embrace this new center of activity on campus, expanding the impact of the institution’s Innovation District.

Today, we’re taking a look inside the new Penner Field House at Brown University to celebrate the building’s dedication.

Sasaki architect Emily Parris walks us through the 76,000 square foot indoor practice facility, which accommodates a wide range of varsity, club, intramural and recreational activities.

Designed to meet the University’s need for an all-season space for practice and training, the facility also allows Brown to grow undergraduate participation in recreation and create more space for wellness activities that will enhance the student experience.

Hideo Sasaki was one of the most consequential designers and educators of the twentieth century—his influence lives on in the halls of Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, where he studied and taught, in the work of the firm he founded, and in the mission of the Hideo Sasaki Foundation.

In 1988, five years after Hideo retired, his former student and business partner Richard (Dick) Galehouse sat down with his mentor for a wide-ranging conversation that would later form the basis of Dick’s book, Hideo Sasaki: A Legacy of Collaborative Design. The interview survived as a transcript for decades—until the original microcassette was able to be digitized last year with the help of the Northeast Document Conservation Center. For most of the firm, this was the first time we heard our founder and namesake speak in his own words.

In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, we’re sharing a glimpse of the man behind the name. This is part of ongoing work with the Sasaki Archives to surface and preserve his life and legacy. In this excerpt, Hideo reflects on the role of the designer.

Yesterday, Bates College celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Stoddard Fitness and Well-Being Center.

“This facility will be transformative in strengthening Bates’ commitment to overall student well-being,” Bates College President Garry W. Jenkins said in announcing the project in March. “Our goal of a new center to support our students as they pursue their personal health and fitness goals is within reach.”

The new facility is designed to serve the entire Bates community, from varsity athletes to students finding their fitness footing. Bridging the existing Alumni Gym and the Gray Athletic Building, the center will double the College’s available fitness space and open up onto the heart of campus at Ladd Library Quad. The Stoddard Center will feature a variety of spaces, including second-floor yoga and pilates studio, new coaching offices, locker rooms, and dedicated well-being spaces.
