Happy National Dessert Day!

Around here, there’s no shortage of good ways to celebrate. Whether you’re grabbing something sweet from a local favorite like SweetFern Coffee in Benton or treating yourself to a slice of pie from Strawn’s, today is the perfect excuse to enjoy dessert first.

We love supporting the local businesses that make NW Louisiana such a great place to call home — and we’d love to know your favorite spot too.

What’s your go-to local dessert? Drop it in the comments so we can all add a few new places to the list.

And while we can’t help with the calories… we can help keep the kitchen sink, disposal, and plumbing running smoothly after all that baking.

When was the last time you gave your water heater a little attention? Your water heater works hard every single day, and a little maintenance can go a long way toward helping it perform reliably.

A professional water heater check-up can help spot signs of wear, corrosion, leaks, or other issues before they turn into a cold shower or a bigger repair.

If your water heater is getting older, making unusual noises, producing inconsistent hot water, or showing signs of rust or leaking, it may be time to have it checked.

Don’t wait until you’re left in the cold. ❄️

When “a water leak” turns into A LOT of water…

We were called out to a commercial property after the manager reported large amounts of water gushing outside near the meter. After the proper utility locate was completed, our crew got to work finding the source of the problem.

Once we cut the sidewalk and excavated the area, we found the leak at a 3” 90° fitting just outside the meter box. The fitting had failed because the fl**ge was significantly out of level, putting stress on the connection.

To make the repair correctly, we had to excavate around the meter, bring the fl**ge back into proper position, and rebuild the water connections so we could make a solid, supported connection. We then backfilled around the piping with gravel and installed additional supports to help keep everything secure when the water was restored.

The water was slowly turned back on, and the repaired system was carefully checked to make sure everything was leak-free and holding properly.
Sometimes the leak you see on the surface is only part of the story. Finding why it failed is just as important as fixing the broken pipe.

If you’re seeing unusual water around your meter, sidewalk, parking area, or property, don’t ignore it.

Mud or dirt coming back on a sewer cable? That can be a BIG clue.

When a sewer cable comes back covered in mud or soil, it can indicate the cable has left the sewer line and entered the surrounding ground—which may mean the pipe is broken, separated, or collapsed.

Possible causes include a broken section of pipe, separated or offset joints, shifting ground, root damage, or deteriorated older piping.

And at that point, continuing to run the sewer machine may not be the answer. You need to know what’s actually happening underground.

That’s where a sewer camera inspection can help. 📹 We can visually inspect the line and, when appropriate, locate the problem area so you can make an informed decision about the next step.

Seeing recurring backups, slow drains, or other signs of sewer trouble?
