When repairs are required where the full log is exposed on the interior (i.e. non-framed walls) things can get tricky. However, we know it to be important to stack the new logs evenly for structural integrity so that the new logs match the same plane as the existing logs. Simultaneously we are slowly raising the height of the walls’ corner that has begun to collapse from decay. As always we extend the life of the bottom-most log that is in contact with the foundation or slab by using pressure-treated house logs and waterproofing tape to deter the wicking of moisture.
