Built From the Ground Up. 🌴

Phase 2 at Gomez Tennis in Naples, Florida, is substantially complete!

What an incredible project this has been for our team. From the initial design and planning through site preparation, drainage infrastructure, retaining walls, expansive paver installations, and landscape development, we’ve had the opportunity to bring this vision to life from the ground up.

Sustainability was a major consideration throughout the design process. This primarily xeriscape landscape incorporates native Florida plants alongside select climate-adapted species, complemented by natural crushed shell and pine straw groundcovers.

Mature Sabal palms and beautiful Sylvester date palms were incorporated throughout the property to provide shade for parents, patrons, and spectators while creating a welcoming, distinctly Florida landscape.

We have just a few final punch-list items remaining, including additional plantings of native Saw Palmettos and Pink Muhly Grass near the parking area.

Projects of this scale require thoughtful planning, coordination, craftsmanship, and a dedicated crew willing to put in the work. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve accomplished together.

A sidewalk shouldn’t become a dam.

On this relatively flat Cape Coral property, the existing sidewalk was restricting surface drainage and holding water on the wrong side of the walkway.

We cut through the concrete and installed NDS Pro Channel Drains to create dedicated drainage crossings, allowing stormwater to continue moving across the property during our heavy summer rains.

Measure. Saw cut. Demo. Set the drains. Pour it back clean.

Small detail. Big difference in how the property drains.

Sunday afternoon with my youngest.

Paddled out together through the mangrove trails of Big Hickory Island and made our way to the beach.

A little exploring, some saltwater, and nowhere we needed to be.

Hard to beat afternoons like this.

A landscape is only as good as the infrastructure supporting it.

Back at Crash Champions today cutting through the asphalt and installing a new 1” irrigation mainline to supply water to the newly planted landscape material.

Saw cut. Excavate. Tap into the existing water source. Install the line and shutoff. Backfill, compact, patch the asphalt—and put everything back together like we were never there.

The reel finishes with the three Sabal palms we planted yesterday. The visible work gets the attention. The work underground is what helps carry the landscape into the future.

A lot of what goes into a project happens behind the scenes — long before the finished product is ever seen by the client, their guests, or the public.

Mobilization. Logistics. Equipment. Deliveries. Loading, unloading, maintenance, scheduling — and coordinating all the moving parts in between.

Some days it feels a lot like a game of chess. One move affects the next, and getting the sequence right matters.

Today started with dropping off the machine, then picking up rebar for another project, followed by a run to the tree farm to get tomorrow’s material loaded.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll be installing multiple varieties of trees on this site and starting to bring another landscape together.

HARDscape Life.

after a long weight of design and engineering reviews and resubmittal’s, we are excited to see this one nearing approval. Southwest Florida has been blessed to have a few quiet years after hurricanes Ian, Milton and Colleen reached havoc on our Coast. We had storm surge pushing upwards of 4 to 5 feet in some areas. Down in Naples it stripped out 4 to 5 feet of sand.

We have been spending the last few years rebuilding our community, approval has taken longer for some that are within the coastal construction control line, and needing more extensive repair. Stay tuned.

The final branch of the journey 🌳

Today we’re installing this 16-foot overall height ‘Muskogee’ Crape Myrtle — a field-grown, hardened-off deciduous tree known for its lavender summer blooms and classic Southern character.

Yesterday we showed this tree being picked up from the farm along with three Green Buttonwoods. Today, Alex’s Bobcat T100 handles the final stretch, getting this heavy specimen into its new home.

‘Muskogee’ is part of a well-known group of Crape Myrtle cultivars named in honor of Native American tribes and places, and these trees have become a staple throughout the Southeast.

There’s more to come here too. Once the pool renovation is complete, we’ll be back to install a new pathway along with a butterfly and hummingbird garden.
