New 40 Gallon Water Heater Installation 🔥

Here’s a clean and straightforward water heater replacement we completed using a new Richmond 40 gallon water heater along with all new code-compliant connections. 💧🔧

For this install we used:
✔️ Two new 3/4” dielectric unions
✔️ 3/4” copper piping
✔️ 1/2” black iron gas pipe
✔️ Gas-rated thread sealant paste
✔️ Teflon tape + paste on the dielectric unions

We also had to re-pipe the gas supply to properly line up with the new heater installation.

One important detail many people overlook: dielectric unions help prevent corrosion between dissimilar metals and are required for proper installation in many areas, including Illinois.

This one was a relatively easy swap thanks to the open workspace… but they definitely aren’t all this nice 😅

💧 Clean Valve Replacement Done Right 🔧

In this job, we replaced a 3/4” Watts Lead-Free Full Port Ball Valve and finished the repair with a ProPress connection using our Milwaukee M12 ProPress and 3/4” jaws.

For the threaded connection, we used:
✔️ Blue Monster Teflon Tape
✔️ Thread Sealant Paste
✔️ 3/4” Copper Pipe
✔️ ProPress Coupling

One tip we always follow: we wrap the threads with Teflon tape FIRST, then apply pipe dope over the tape for extra sealing protection and smoother assembly. Small details like that help prevent leaks and make for a stronger long-term repair. 👌

We also make sure the copper is cleaned properly and fully seated before pressing fittings to ensure a solid ProPress connection every time.

Watch us install and solder in a new quarter-turn frostproof outdoor hose faucet from start to finish. 💧🔧

One important pro tip you don’t see in the video: before soldering, we remove the stem assembly and packing components from the hose faucet to protect the internal seals and parts from heat damage. After soldering and cooling, everything gets reassembled for a clean professional install.

This type of attention to detail is what helps ensure long-lasting performance and prevents future leaks. ✅

This kitchen sink drain was completely backed up, so we brought out one of our FAVORITE machines for the job 💪

🔥 The RIDGID K-50 sectional machine 🔥

Why do we love sectional machines?
✔ Powerful
✔ Can run MUCH farther than a normal drum machine
✔ Great for heavy grease clogs
✔ Easier to work through tough kitchen drain stoppages

And if you watch closely 👀
You’ll see a little trick we use…

We cut a notch into the P-trap drain arm so we can keep HOT water running during the drain cleaning process 🔥💧

That helps:
✔ Break up grease
✔ Flush debris
✔ Improve cleaning performance

🚰 LEAKY BATHROOM SINK DRAIN? Here’s a SIMPLE FIX 👇😎

In this video, we replaced a broken bathroom vanity sink pop-up assembly and got everything sealed back up properly 💪

A lot of homeowners don’t realize:
💧 Slow leaks under a sink can eventually cause BIG damage.

The good news?
This is actually a pretty manageable repair if you have the right parts and know what to look for 🔧

In this repair we:
✔ Removed the old drain assembly
✔ Installed a new pop-up drain
✔ Properly sealed the drain
✔ Reset everything leak-free

And yes… we used SILICONE instead of plumber’s putty 😳👇

We’ve found silicone tends to:
✔ Last longer
✔ Handle heat better
✔ Seal more reliably over time
✔ Avoid staining certain sink materials

(Especially compared to standard plumber’s putty.)
