When I was twelve I asked my mother to show me how to thread the machine and the rest came naturally. Attending college for graphic design, I have always loved colors and patterns. In 1994 I moved to Saint James City, FL from Springfield, MO. While living here in SWFL I have pursued my passion for design, with a position at Williams-Sonoma and then later as Design Manager for David Weekley Homes.

Years of working in a design center, furnishing models/spec homes and making visual displays have brought me to where I am today. Material Green allows me to create on another level. As they say "you'll never work a day in your life if you love what you are doing!"

It's HOT outside!

Cushions were completed in performance fabric.

We added a personal touch with pillow covers made from her dad's favorite T-shirts❤️.

These cushions and pillows will be enjoyed for many years to come!

EXCITING news 😁

As my business evolves, I want to be the most efficient I can be to complete my custom work.

I love the building that I am in....but do I really need all of this space and upkeep?!?

Material Green is moving!!!

This was not a quick decision to make, but I feel the right one for me going forward.

No worries if you see the building available....as I am not closing or going far! I will still be on the island that I ❤️!!!!!

This will take some time, it will be a few months before I am in my new location and will remain here working until I make a smooth transition.

I will still have a lot of fabrics and a little bit of retail, but primarily focus on custom work.

AND I get to put my stamp on another island building😍

Renovating buildings AND furniture.....perhaps a new business plan?!?

Third time's a charm, right?!?😉

About 29 years ago I met this guy while walking my dog in St James City.....in the same neighborhood we still live in.....

On this day 25 years ago, we got married.... at a historic inn on the north end of Pine Island on Charlotte harbor.

It was the perfect mix of casual and nice, no sports jackets or pantyhose.....I wanted sandals and Hawaiian shirts, flowers from the grounds of the inn....two old guys played classic music on a big bass and keyboard....finger food and a cake from Publix.

It was simple and perfect. My only complaint.... it was over too fast....the sun set over the Bokeelia pier and guests went home. Seemed like a blink.

A small party travelled to the south end to Froggy's bar where we danced and drank until late in the night. Seems such a short time ago!

Here's to another 25 years Mr Williams!!!❤️❤️💕🥳

Baby buntings??

Yes....not my norm....I had to go waaaaay back in my skill closet for this one!

When I was in high school and college I made custom prom dresses, beauty pageant swim suits and other attire.

It wasn't my thing, so I decided that I enjoyed furniture and home decor much more!

I love the fact that some Islanders think that I can make anything....and push my limits....

VOILA....custom baby bunting lining! Doesn't it look angelic
