East Quogue Water Damage & Mold Remediation — Project Update

Yesterday, we shared the beginning of a multi-level water damage restoration and mold remediation project in East Quogue, NY after an upstairs bathroom leak allowed water to travel into the areas below.

The K.O.S. Restoration crew has made significant progress.

All unsalvageable water-damaged building materials were removed to expose the affected areas and allow the structure to dry properly.

Professional drying and dehumidifying equipment has now been installed throughout the home to help remove remaining moisture from the building materials.

Because mold was discovered during the restoration process, the crew also completed detailed remediation of the affected areas, including:

- HEPA vacuuming
- Enzyme treatment
- Hand cleaning of affected surfaces
- Cleaning of exposed framing and structural materials
- Continued containment and protection of the homeowner’s belongings

The photos from today show why proper water damage restoration goes well beyond simply drying what is visible.

A Bathroom Leak Upstairs Can Cause Damage Far Beyond the Bathroom

Our K.O.S. Restoration team is currently working on a water damage restoration and mold remediation project in East Quogue, NY after an upstairs bathroom leak caused damage across multiple levels of the home.

Water traveled into the areas below, affecting ceilings, drywall, hardwood flooring, carpeting, and other building materials. After arriving at the home, our crew located the source of the leak and began taking moisture readings throughout the affected areas to determine how far the water had traveled.

As damaged materials in the bathroom were exposed, mold growth was discovered, adding another concern for the homeowner.

Mold Remediation Underway in Syosset, NY

When mold is discovered in more than one area of a home, especially the basement and attic, it can be a serious concern for any homeowner.

Kitchen Plumbing Leak Leads to Water Damage & Mold in Greenlawn, NY

What started as a failed kitchen plumbing connection turned into an ongoing moisture problem affecting multiple areas of this Greenlawn home.

The homeowner called K.O.S. Restoration after water damaged the flooring, subflooring, drywall, and insulation on both the main level and basement.

East Moriches Mold Remediation Update

Work is continuing on this multi-level remediation project in East Moriches, and the K.O.S. Restoration crew is now completing mold encapsulation in multiple areas of the home as part of the final remediation process.

After affected building materials were removed and exposed framing was thoroughly HEPA vacuumed, cleaned, and treated, our team began applying a professional encapsulation coating to help seal treated surfaces and provide an added layer of protection against future moisture-related mold growth.

Throughout the project, the crew has continued to protect the home with containment barriers, floor coverings, and controlled work areas while treating affected framing, ceilings, walls, and other exposed structural materials.

Basement Mold Remediation Underway in Huntington, NY

What you can see on the surface may only be part of the mold problem.
