We went to a job in Bexar County on the far west side of San Antonio for a new customer who'd had enough of not hearing back from their old company. So we texted at every step, from on the way to all done, and wrapped up well ahead of the scheduled time. Once the tanks were open, the first one had a thick layer sitting on top, which is a good sign it was time. When we were finished, the pump tank was clean and the pump, float and plumbing all looked ready for another good stretch. 📱

Our techs went out to the Canyon Lake area for the last stop of a long day of inspections, a tidy yard with two green lids, a control panel and a wood and wire fence along the back. After a day like that, a system that's clearly been looked after is a welcome sight. Keeping the area around your lids clear, like this homeowner does, makes every visit faster and easier on everybody. We checked it over, closed it up, and called it a good day for the HomeField crew. 🌤️

Our team went out to Comal County off FM 306 near Canyon Lake, where the live oaks are beautiful and, as it turns out, very interested in what's underground. When we opened the risers, there were roots hanging down the inside of the tank walls like curtains. Trees go looking for water and nutrients, and a septic tank with a small gap in a seam or riser is about the easiest meal around. Catching it on a routine visit means the homeowner can plan for it now instead of finding out the hard way. 🌳

Our techs went out to another stop in Spring Branch and got there a bit ahead of schedule, which nobody seemed to mind. Most of this visit happened inside the control panel, checking the timer, the breakers and the alarm lights that tell you when something needs attention. If you ever see that alarm light on, it's not a disaster, it's just your system asking for a phone call. This one was quiet and happy, so we closed it up and kept the morning moving. 🔌

Our crew arrived at a job in Spring Branch where the system sits in a river rock bed right alongside a flagstone path, about as tidy as a septic setup gets. We pulled a core sample to see how much has settled in the tank, checked the control panel, and set everything back just the way the homeowner keeps it. That sample is one of the quiet heroes of an inspection, because it tells you when pumping is coming up before it becomes urgent. Second stop of the morning, and the HomeField crew was happy to report all was well. 🪨

We went to a job in Comal County out Spring Branch way to kick off a full morning of inspections, the first of four stops in the area that day. The control post stood at the end of a neat row of green lids with cedar all around, which made the whole system easy to read at a glance. We opened the panel, checked the aerator, and walked the line of lids to make sure everything was doing its part. An aerobic system is a little like a car that never gets turned off, so a regular look under the hood goes a long way. 🌲

Our team went out to New Braunfels on Tuesday for the second of two inspections on the same road, which made for an easy morning of it. We walked the system, checked the controls, and ran through the sprayfield the way we do every time, whether or not anything looks off. Aerobic systems are chattier than conventional ones, and that's a feature... they'll tell you something is wrong before your yard does. The report went to the county the same day, which is how the HomeField office prefers it. 📋

Our crew arrived at a job in New Braunfels on Tuesday with one extra thing on the list, an alarm that had been sounding off without the light ever coming on. That's a bulb nine times out of ten, and it's a five minute fix once somebody is standing in front of the panel. We sorted it out, then went ahead with the inspection, checked the controls, and ran the sprayfield. A working alarm is the cheapest insurance on a septic system, so it's worth telling us when yours starts acting odd. 💡

Our techs went out to a job in New Braunfels on Tuesday and spent a good part of it at the air pump, which is the piece most homeowners never think about. That little compressor is what keeps the good bacteria alive in an aerobic system, and when it quits, the whole treatment side quits with it. We checked it, listened to it, ran the sprayfield, and finished the inspection with everything reading the way it should. If you've got an aerobic system and you can't remember the last time anybody looked at the pump, that's usually a sign. 🔧
