Green Iguanas vs. Black Spiny-Tailed Iguanas
This customer called because iguanas were eating the mangos from their tree.
While removing several green iguanas from the property, I noticed they had a different species showing up too — black spiny-tailed iguanas.
After inspecting the area, I discovered the neighboring property was heavily infested with black spiny-tailed iguanas, which were likely contributing to the problem.
In this photo, you can see the difference:
The green iguanas are on the left, and the black spiny-tailed iguanas are on the right.
This is why a proper inspection matters. Sometimes the iguanas causing damage on your property are not just living in your yard — they may be coming from a neighboring property, nearby burrows, seawalls, heavy vegetation, or other shelter areas close by.
Whether they are eating fruit, damaging landscaping, digging burrows, or showing up around your home, the first step is figuring out what species you’re dealing with and where they are coming from.
Different iguanas. Same problem: property damage.
If iguanas are taking over your yard, fruit trees, roofline, seawall, or foundation, Iguana Gone can help.
