Unfortunately too many HVAC techs today would see this 12 year old system freezing up and jump to system replacement. When in reality, all it needed was a little tlc so it could breathe again. Who you hire to take care of your home comfort matters. This system is never gunna be perfectly shiny again but its lifespan absolutely got extended.

HOW DO I KEEP MY AC DRAIN LINE FROM BACKING UP?

Simple, one gallon of hot water from the sink. DO NOT BOIL.

One cup of white distilled vinegar.

Once a month.

If you want to go the extra step, if you have a wet vac you can suck the drain line out from the outside. THE OUTSIDE. If you do it from inside you’re not going to be terribly successful.
