North Georgia Master Gardeners

North Georgia Master Gardeners An organization whose purpose is to promote good horticultural practices in cooperation with the University of Georgia. Visitors are welcome.

NGMG meets on the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 pm at the United Methodist Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia. 235 Orvin Lance Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. The hall is at the rear of the church building at the double doors.

POSTPONED do to rain. MG will be presenting/demonstrating how to prune shrubs and plantings at the Family Connections Garden this Saturday at 10:00 am.
This is for Adult Education/Open to the Public, as well as NGMGs!

The picture is from last year. It has grown by leaps and bounds since. Bring loppers, prunes, and gloves if you would like to help after the demonstrating for a little hands on training.

They need to be picked up at my house/nursery The Teapot Garden Boutique in Mineral Bluff. Read descriptions of each picture. Cash or check made out to Fannin Extension. Pick up asap starting 5/28. First person to comment will get first opportunity to purchase.

This is the season when native landscapes remind us to start to slow down and embrace change. Trees are drawing their moisture in, which results in the colorful leaves that start to fall - a vital part of the cycle. Fallen leaves become shelter for overwintering pollinators and wildlife like moths, fireflies, frogs, and turtles. Seeds settle into the soil, awaiting spring’s signal. Lean into this transitional time and replenish- just as the fallen leaves protect and replenish the soil
