🏡 Chamness House Update — Basement Walls Are Up!

Another big milestone at the Chamness house! The basement walls have been poured, the forms are off, and you can now really start to see the footprint of this custom home taking shape on the property.

One of the things we love about sharing a home from the very beginning is watching it go from plans and excavation to an actual structure. With the foundation taking shape, the next stages will make this home change quickly.

And what a setting for it — surrounded by woods, this is going to be a beautiful place to call home.

We’ll continue following the Chamness house throughout construction, so check back as we build it from the ground up.

🏡 Thinking About Building a Custom Home in the Bloomington Area?

A custom home should be designed around the way you want to live—not around a builder’s standard floor plan.

At Dream Builders of Bloomington, we work with our clients from the initial design through construction to create homes that are truly their own.

Whether you already have land and plans or you're just beginning to explore the idea of building, we'd be happy to talk about what’s possible.

🏡 Frailey House Update

Things are really starting to take shape inside the Frailey home!

Drywall is complete, and the crew is now working through priming and painting. With the walls finished, you can really begin to see the scale and character of this home—especially in the great room with its soaring ceiling, 10ft doors, fireplace, and incredible wall of windows overlooking the wooded property.

This is one of our favorite stages of a custom build. After months of foundations, framing, mechanicals, insulation and drywall, the spaces that started as drawings on a set of plans finally begin to feel like a home.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, and we’ll keep sharing the Frailey house as the finishes start going in.

🏡 Thinking about building a custom home in 2027? The time to start planning may be sooner than you think.

One of the questions we hear from future homeowners is, “When should we contactOne of the questions we hear from future homeowners is, “When should we contact a builder?”

The answer is usually earlier than you think.

You don't need to have finished house plans before talking with Dream Builders. In fact, getting your builder involved early can help you make better decisions about your property, home design, budget, site conditions, and the features that matter most to you — before you're too far into the process.

Building a custom home involves much more than choosing a floor plan. Site evaluation, design, selections, engineering, permitting, estimating and scheduling all happen before construction begins.

So if you're hoping to break ground in 2027, this fall is a great time to start the conversation.

At Dream Builders, we'll help guide you from the first ideas on paper through the day you walk into your finished home.

Another Dream Builders custom home is complete! 🏡

We’re excited to share the finished (just a few punch list items left) Baird House, a custom home designed around comfortable everyday living, beautiful craftsmanship, and its wooded setting.

Inside, some of our favorite features include the vaulted great room, custom kitchen, spacious primary suite and bath, and all of the details that make a custom-built home truly personal. The screened porch may be one of our favorite spaces in the entire house — a perfect place to enjoy the surrounding woods.

🏡 A new Dream Builders home is officially underway!

There’s something exciting about seeing a new home go from plans to reality. This custom home is being built on a beautiful wooded country property, and today we’re pouring the basement walls.

It may not look much like the renderings yet, but this is where it all begins. The foundation forms are going up, the driveway is in, and before long this jobsite will start looking a lot more like the finished home you see here.

We’ll be sharing progress along the way — from the foundation and framing all the way through the finishing touches.

Thinking about building your own custom home? Dream Builders can help take your ideas from the drawing board to the day you walk through your new front door.

🏡 Outdoor living, built for more than just a backyard.

This outdoor living project is really starting to come together! We’ve covered the existing patio and added a custom bar and outdoor kitchen designed to make this space perfect for cooking, entertaining, or simply relaxing outside.

The new outdoor kitchen features a built-in grill, side burner, sink, plenty of storage and prep space, along with a large bar and seating area. We also love the combination of natural wood, stone, dark countertops, and the green tile backsplash.

There’s still more to come — including finishing details and a new wall color (you can even spot the paint sample!) — but we couldn’t wait to share the progress.

Thinking about turning your patio or backyard into a space you’ll actually want to use every day? Dream Builders can help you create an outdoor living space designed around your home and the way you live.

🏡 MORE SPACE. MORE POSSIBILITIES. RIGHT IN YOUR BACKYARD.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are becoming an increasingly popular way to add useful living space to your property without building a traditional addition onto your home.

An ADU can be designed for:

🏠 Aging parents or family members
🔑 Independent living for adult children
🛏️ A private guest house
💻 A home office or studio
🌿 A downsized, comfortable living space
💰 Additional flexibility and value for your property

And as these designs show, an ADU doesn’t have to look like a shed or an afterthought. It can be a beautiful, thoughtfully designed home that complements your property and fits the way you want to use it.

At Dream Builders, we can help you take an ADU from an idea to a finished space designed around your needs, your property, and your style.

The Ventura house is really starting to take shape!

Framing has progressed throughout the home, and some of the features that make this design special are becoming much easier to see — soaring ceilings, dramatic window openings, open living spaces, and plenty of natural light.

At this stage of construction, you can finally begin to walk through the house and get a sense of the scale and character that were once only visible on the plans.

There’s still a lot of work ahead, but it’s exciting to watch the vision become a home.
