I tell every Edina homeowner the same thing when they ask what a 3-bedroom interior repaint costs: stop thinking in square footage and start thinking in rooms.
Most 3-bedroom homes actually have around 7 paintable spaces once you count the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and hallway. That's the number that drives your price, not what's on the listing sheet.
For that room count, a full walls, ceilings, and trim repaint typically lands somewhere between $6,500 and $17,900, though most projects land well below the top of that range. Trim is usually the biggest wild card in that estimate. Previously painted trim just needs a clean and scuff-sand, but bare or heavily worn trim needs sanding, filling, and priming before any color goes on, and that extra labor adds up fast.
Wall condition matters just as much. Homes with nail holes, scuffs, or water stains need patching before paint goes on, and waiting too long can mean 40+ hours of prep instead of under 10.
