Nutsedge (lime/light green sprouts) can be difficult to remove in lawns. These perennial weeds have underground tubers than can survive over winter and sprout the next year. This is why cutting or pulling them is often ineffective.

Sedge thrives in wet or compacted soil. We can removed sedge using specialized herbicide, one or two follow up treatments are often needed to ensure all tubers are eliminated.

Another yard renovation in the books. This started as a plumbing job gone south. The homeowner had a new sewer line run and the plumbers ran into a buried in ground swimming pool. The yard was destroyed in the process and the homeowner wanted to get it back in shape.

Last week we completed a total lawn renovation.

Despite the extreme heat this week we are approaching the best time of year to fertilize your lawn or renovate it. Lawns take in the most fertilizer from September to November in our area when they start to go dormant for the winter.

An application now and again later this fall will strengthen your grass and help it get off the next season with a bang.

If over seeding or renovating your lawn late September is about the deadline to ensure a thick healthy lawn grows going into winter.
