We recently wrapped up this front porch refresh for the Morrell family in Risingsun, Ohio!

After removing the existing material, we uncovered significant water damage that needed to be addressed. We repaired the damaged framing before wrapping the porch posts, beams, and trim in clean white vinyl board for a sharp, maintenance-free finish. We also installed fresh, custom-bent white fascia metal to complete the updated look.

Another challenging but rewarding project in the books! 🔨

The guys over at Barger Brothers Construction asked us to lend a hand on another project, and this one was definitely a little different from our everyday work.

After the roof suffered some damage some time ago, years of exposure to the weather had taken its toll on one of the main beams in this nearly century-old barn on the Livingston family farm outside of Arlington, Ohio.

We were able to carefully jack the roof structure back into place, remove the damaged beam, and install a new solid oak beam to get everything properly supported again and help preserve this old barn for years to come.

While we were there, we also stripped all of the existing steel from the lean-to on the back of the barn and installed a brand-new galvanized steel roof, with the material supplied by our buddies at Stillwater Metal in Kenton, Ohio.

There’s something pretty rewarding about working on a structure that has been standing for nearly 100 years and doing our part to help keep it standing for the next generation.

Thanks to Barger Brothers Construction for bringing us in on this one and to the Livingston family for trusting us to work on a piece of their farm’s history! 🇺🇸🔨

Another job knocked out! 🔨🪟

Jesse from Barger Brothers Construction and I were able to pull a few guys away from the addition project we’ve been working on and get these Vinylmax windows installed for the Crow family just outside of Fostoria!

Always great teaming up with Jesse and his crew and keeping another project moving. We appreciate the Crow family trusting us with their home and hope they enjoy the new windows for years to come!

We also installed a lower-profile railing to preserve the homeowners’ view while relaxing on the porch. At their request, we incorporated steel roofing panels into the railing, helping to keep wind-driven rain and water off the porch while maintaining the classic country character of the home.

PART 2

Another big transformation getting close to the finish line! 🏠🔨

We teamed up with Jesse and his crew over at Barger Brothers Construction on this addition and full exterior renovation, and this project has come a long way!

We completely stripped the existing house and detached garage and tore off the old porch before rebuilding it with a vaulted vinyl soffit ceiling and new LED can lights underneath.

The addition gave the homeowners some major upgrades, including a new master bedroom, master ensuite, walk-in closet, and a new three-bay garage complete with additional storage and a new utility closet.

A big shoutout also goes to Tyler Rae at TR Construction, who knocked out the block work, concrete garage floor, and approach for us. He had to battle through some less-than-favorable wet weather along the way, but he got it handled and kept things moving!

On the exterior, we installed a textured black steel roof across the entire house, supplied by Stillwater Metal in Kenton, along with all-new windows and entry doors throughout the existing home, garage, and addition. The detached garage also received a new door, window, and matching textured black steel roof.

To bring everything together, we covered the entire house and detached garage in new blue siding, complemented by white corners, soffit, and fascia metal. The contrast between the blue siding, crisp white accents, and textured black roof really made this place pop!

Inside the new garage, the electrical and insulation are complete, with sheathing installed on the walls and ceiling. The addition has also been wired, insulated, and rough-drywalled. We’re down to just a few final details before this one is completely buttoned up!

A ton of work and coordination has gone into this transformation, and it’s always great working alongside other local contractors to bring a project like this together. Big thanks to Jesse and the Barger Brothers Construction crew, Tyler Rae at TR Construction, and everyone else who had a hand in getting this one to where it is today.

Just wrapped up this project last Friday for Bobolink Custom Homes in the Brookside Subdivision in Sylvania, Ohio!

We installed 6” James Hardie® lap siding across the front of the home, giving it a clean, high-end look. With a little extra help from my cousin and his crew, we were also able to knock out the remainder of the exterior with Mastic CarvedWood® siding in Deep Cavern.

Out back, we added a cedar accent to wrap the LVL at the vaulted rear porch, bringing some natural warmth into the darker exterior. We finished everything off with Mastic black vinyl Pro-Tec soffit and Mastic Deep Cavern fascia metal, custom-bent on site for a clean, finished appearance.

Really like how all the different materials and colors came together on this one. Another one covered from front to back!

Last week, we were able to finish out the week helping my good buddy Jesse over at Barger Brothers Construction get this awesome American flag-themed steel ceiling installed in the dream shop he’s building! 🇺🇸

Definitely not your everyday ceiling project, and that’s what made this one so much fun to be a part of. It turned out awesome and is going to be one heck of a shop when everything is finished!
