RICK’S ADVICE | Gold, Silver, or Real Estate? Which? Yes…
When people talk about building and preserving wealth, the conversation often becomes real estate vs. gold vs. silver. But Rick looks at it a little differently.
Which one should you invest in? Yes.
The idea is simple: diversification matters. Rather than relying on one type of asset, a diversified investment strategy can spread exposure across assets that behave differently and serve different purposes.
Gold can act as a portable store of wealth. Silver is both a precious metal and an industrial commodity. And real estate offers something neither metal can—it’s a tangible asset you can live in, rent, build on, operate a business from, and improve over time.
Looking back to 2000 provides an interesting comparison. Using the benchmarks in our graphic, Hill Country–San Antonio real estate appreciated approximately 242%, gold approximately 1,778%, and silver approximately 2,218% when measured against their 2026 highs.
But the takeaway isn’t that the asset with the highest historical return is automatically the one you should own.
It’s that each can have a place.
For Rick, building wealth isn’t necessarily about choosing gold OR silver OR real estate. It’s about understanding what each asset brings to the table and creating diversification rather than putting everything in one basket.
And real estate has another dimension Rick particularly values:
“Real estate isn’t just an investment—it’s a place to live, build and leave a legacy for generations.”
So, gold, silver, or real estate?
Yes.
Build. Invest. Diversify. Create Your Legacy.
