While I was cutting some overgrown grass today, this copperhead came slithering out. 🐍 When grass and weeds get tall, it creates the perfect hiding place for snakes and other critters you definitely don’t want hanging around your yard.

Keeping your property mowed isn’t just about making it look good—it can also help you see what’s hiding in it!

Stay safe, keep that grass cut, and watch where you step! 🌱🐍

Critter of the Day! 🦌

Not a snake this time while cutting grass—just a tiny fawn tucked away in the overgrown grass. Momma had hidden this little one where she thought it would be safe.

It’s a good reminder to stay alert when mowing or bush hogging, especially this time of year. Fawns will often stay perfectly still instead of running, relying on their camouflage to keep them safe.

🐍 Critter of the Day! 🐍

Today’s critter is the copperhead.

A friendly reminder—snakes will always be around, but there are a few things you can do to make your property less inviting:

• Keep your grass cut short.
• Remove brush piles, old logs, and rock piles.
• Eliminate places where rodents, such as field mice, like to hide, since they are a major food source for snakes.

This copperhead was found in some tall grass, likely hunting for field mice. Staying aware of your surroundings and maintaining your property can greatly reduce the chances of an unwanted encounter.

Stay safe, watch where you step, and keep enjoying the outdoors!
