Have been meaning to post this for awhile: the coffee bar at Annie Kay's is complete :)

Mortising in the bentwood legs for Annie Kay's coffee bar: a simple rig holds the bentwood leg in place. Next, the leg is carefully marked; if some care is taken here, fitting the leg into the slab goes smoothly and surprising quickly.

Finally, the leg is fitted and locked in with long wood screws. the legs will be trimmed in the store to compensate for any irregularities in the store's floor.

We've started to prep this beautiful black walnut for a coffee bar @ Annie Kay's :D Since the bar will be accessed by customers from all sides, we rounded off the ends and some jagged sections (shown in 2nd pic). next, we'll finish sanding and work in a penetrating oil made from pine resin/citrus oil to illuminate the grain and bring out the color of this beautiful wood. finally, it'll be sealed with a linseed/ pine resin/citrus oil/beeswax mix :)
