🏡🪵 Lynn’s LOG CABIN IS GETTING ITS GLOW BACK! 🌲✨

Well, would you look at that transformation! 😍

The stain has had time to soak in and settle, and Lin’s log cabin is looking a whole lot happier these days!

After all the washing, prep work, and staining, it’s pretty satisfying to step back and see that beautiful wood grain come back to life. What a difference a little TLC (and a whole lot of elbow grease) can make! 💪😂

The logs have a fresh, rich look, and this cabin is finally getting the love it deserves. ❤️

🔨 What’s next?

Time to get those deck railings put back together in the section we removed! A little more woodworking, a few finishing touches, and we’ll be another step closer to wrapping this beauty up.

📸 Check out those before-and-after pictures! The difference speaks for itself!

There’s just something special about bringing an old log cabin back to life, especially here in the beautiful Black Hills. 🌲

🏡🔨 JEN’S HOUSE UPDATE: WE HAVE WALLS… AND LIGHTS! 💡🎉

Yesterday was a BIG day at Jen’s house!

After weeks of demolition, floor repairs, plumbing, wiring, and all the behind-the-scenes work, we’re finally getting to see this place come back together!

🔨 The kitchen is officially drywalled! Goodbye pink insulation, hello actual walls! 😂

💡 Outlets and lights are going in! And the best part? WE CAN FINALLY SEE WHAT WE’RE DOING! No more working in the dark or dragging temporary lights around everywhere! 🙌

🏡 The transformation is getting real! It’s amazing how much different a space feels once the drywall starts going up. We’re finally getting a glimpse of what Jen’s new kitchen and living space will look like!

Of course, we’re not done yet…

Today’s goal? MORE DRYWALL! 🤣

Then comes everyone’s favorite part… mud, tape, sand, repeat! And probably repeat a few more times. 😂

Every day gets us a little closer to the fun finishing touches, and we can’t wait to see those new cabinets find their forever home!

📸 Check out the progress! From exposed studs and insulation to actual walls. We’re getting there!

🏡🔨 JEN’S HOUSE UPDATE: GOODBYE DEMO, HELLO DRYWALL! 🎉

We’re finally getting to the point where things start looking like a house again! 😂

After days of tearing things apart, discovering a few surprises, and putting everything back together from the ground up, we’ve hit another big milestone at Jen’s!

✅ Floors are ALL patched! No more mystery holes or playing “What the Duct?” 😂

✅ Plumbing is all set! Everything is roughed in and ready for the next phase.

✅ Electrical is in place! New wiring is run, and we’re getting closer to bringing this kitchen to life.

✅ New kitchen window is installed! A little change of plans, but it’s going to be worth it!

And now comes everyone’s favorite part…

DRYWALL, DRYWALL, DRYWALL! 🤣

Time to start covering up all that pink insulation and turning this construction zone back into a home!

It’s funny how much work goes into the things you’ll never see once a remodel is finished. But getting everything right behind those walls is just as important as making everything look beautiful on the outside. 💪

Jen’s house has come a LONG way, and we’re excited to finally start seeing the finished vision take shape!

📸 These pictures might not look glamorous yet, but they’re a HUGE step forward!

🏡🔨 JEN’S HOUSE: NEW PLAN, NEW WINDOW! 🪟😂

Just when we thought we had the kitchen plans figured out… Jen had another idea! And you know what? We think she’s onto something! 😎

A quick change order meant it was time to head back outside, pull some siding and trim, do a little framing, and make room for a brand-new kitchen window!

🪟 New plan. New window. More natural light!

Sometimes the best ideas come AFTER you’ve already started tearing things apart. 😂

The exterior was already looking great after all the upgrades we’ve done, and now this new window is another piece of the puzzle that will make Jen’s kitchen feel even more like home.

📸 Check out the before and after pictures! It’s amazing what one more window can do!

Now back inside we go… we’ve still got a kitchen to build! 💪🔨

🏡🔨 JEN’S HOUSE UPDATE: THE GOOD STUFF IS STARTING TO SHOW UP! 🎉

Yesterday was another productive day at Jen’s house, and we’re finally starting to see some of the pieces of this kitchen transformation come together!

📦 THE CABINETS HAVE ARRIVED! And there’s a whole lot of them! 😂 Now we just need to turn that stack of boxes into Jen’s dream kitchen!

🪚 Floor repairs are officially underway! We’ve got about half of the floor patching installed, replacing what we tore out while uncovering all those fun little surprises hiding underneath.

🔧 Plumbing, framing, electrical, floor repairs… there’s a LOT that has to happen before we get to the pretty stuff!

And while a room full of exposed insulation, lumber, and tools might not look like much to everyone else, to us it looks like PROGRESS! 💪

Today we’re back at it, tackling more of those floors and getting everything one step closer to putting this house back together.

Jen has been watching her home transform from the outside in, and we can’t wait for her to see this next chapter come to life!

The cabinets are here. The floors are coming together. Now the real fun begins! 😎🔨

🔨🏡 JEN’S HOUSE: WHAT THE DUCT?! 🤣

Yesterday’s adventure at Jen’s house was brought to you by the letters W, T, and D… WHAT THE DUCT?! 😂

You know those projects where you start pulling things apart and suddenly have more questions than answers? Yeah… welcome to remodeling!

With the kitchen and bathroom floors opened up, we got to play everyone’s favorite construction game: “Where does this duct go?” 🤔

Some went where they were supposed to. Others? Well, apparently they were just along for the ride! 🤷‍♂️😂

But we weren’t about to let a little mystery slow us down!

🔨 Investigating the mystery ductwork
🪚 Patching and repairing the floors
🚿 Getting the rough-in plumbing underway
💪 Making sure what’s underneath is ready for everything going on top!

It’s not the glamorous part of a remodel, and it’s definitely not the part that gets all the compliments. But getting the stuff nobody sees done right is what makes the finished product worth it!

We’re getting closer to the fun stuff at Jen’s house, and we can’t wait to start putting this puzzle back together!

One mystery duct at a time! 😂

🏡🎉 JOE & JACKIE’S FRONT DOOR SAGA… FINALLY COMPLETE! 🔨😂

What started as a simple mission to say goodbye to some VERY pink doors and vents turned into quite the adventure!

Let’s just say this project tested our patience, our sandpaper supply, and possibly our sanity. 🤣

We sanded, primed, painted, scratched our heads, sanded some more, battled bubbling paint, and even broke out the pressure washer to get back to a clean slate! 💪

Turns out, years of old paint and primer don’t always want to cooperate. And when the sun decided to bake everything behind that glass storm door, we got a few surprises we definitely didn’t order! ☀️😅

But at DNA Home Revival, we don’t believe in walking away when things get difficult. We figure it out, put in the extra work, and keep going until it’s right.

And now… THE PINK IS GONE! 🎉

The front door, sidelights, and gable vents finally match those beautiful dark shutters, giving the whole house a cleaner, more coordinated look.

A HUGE thank-you to Joe and Jackie for their patience, kindness, and trust throughout this unexpectedly wild little project. ❤️

Some jobs remind us why preparation matters. Others remind us why persistence matters. This one taught us BOTH! 😂

Another project in the books, another home revived!

🏚️🔨 JEN’S HOUSE: WE’RE OFFICIALLY GETTING DOWN TO THE BONES! 😂

Remember that beautiful exterior transformation we finished at Jen’s house? Well, apparently we weren’t done having fun just yet! 🤣

We’ve moved INSIDE, and let’s just say… things are looking a little less like a kitchen and a lot more like a construction zone! 💪

Cabinets? Gone. ✔️
Wall paneling? Gone. ✔️
Old flooring? Coming out! ✔️
Kitchen and bathroom? Getting a serious fresh start! 🔨

And just when you think you’ve reached the bottom layer of flooring… SURPRISE! There’s another one! 😂

We’re tearing things down so we can build them back up better than ever. The kitchen and bathroom floors are getting completely removed, and we’re getting closer to the fun part—watching everything NEW start going in! 🏡✨

A huge thank-you to Jen for trusting us with another chapter of her home’s transformation. We can’t wait to see this one come together!

Stay tuned for the final demolition photo… because we’re not leaving much behind! 👀

🪵 ANOTHER DAY OF SANDING… BUT WE FINALLY GOT TO START PUTTING SOME LIFE BACK INTO THIS CABIN! 🙌

There’s been a LOT of taking things off this project—old finish, old paint, dirt, weathering… and probably a little bit of our patience. 😂

After another round of sanding today, we finally got to move on to wood restoration, and seeing that natural color start coming back out of the wood is pretty satisfying!

The difference between the weathered wood and the restored sections is already incredible. 👀

We’re taking our time with the prep because when it comes to restoring an older log cabin, the finished product is only as good as the work underneath it.

Strip ✔️
Scrape ✔️
Wash ✔️
Sand ✔️
Restore underway ✔️
Stain & seal coming soon! 🏡

Another step closer to getting this Black Hawk cabin protected, sealed up, and looking beautiful again.

🪵 TWO DAYS OF STRIPPING, SCRAPING & WASHING… AND WE’RE FINALLY SEEING WOOD AGAIN! 😂

We’ve spent the last two days back on our Black Hawk cabin project, and this stage has been all about the prep work.

Years of old finish don’t disappear without a fight! We’ve been stripping, scraping, pressure washing, and cleaning both the log cabin and deck to get everything back to a solid surface and ready for its fresh new look.

It may not be the glamorous part of the project, but good prep is what makes the finished product look great and last. 💪

Next comes some drying time, final prep, and then we can start putting the NEW finish on instead of taking the OLD finish off! 🙌

And this cabin still has more coming—including new windows before we’re finished.

Stay tuned. This one is going to be a pretty awesome before & after! 👀🏡
