Ten years. We’re celebrating today and you’re invited!

Ten years in and more than 200 kitchens later, you’d think one more might start to feel routine. This one in Fairview didn’t.

Devar ran this job start to finish. The cabinetry was built custom by our friends at MM Custom Woodworks, and the countertops came from Viktor Granite and Marble. Look at the before shots first. That’s where you see how far this room came.

Every one of those kitchens has had somebody’s mornings riding on it. We still treat the next one like it’s the first.

The family room roof at this house in Fletcher came down during Helene in September 2024. Yesterday we stood in that same room for a welcome home party.

A lot of waiting happened between those two days. Half the house was unusable, with insulation and debris still sitting where the storm left it. It took months of back and forth with insurance before the rebuild could start, and our team stayed in it with this family the whole way.
Once we broke ground in January, here’s what came back:
- New engineered trusses and a new roof over the family room, plus a full reroof on the rest of the house.
- New hardwood through the family room, half bath, and utility closet.
- New siding matched as close as we could get, since the original masonite isn’t made anymore.
- A rebuilt deck with new stairs, grippable handrails, and a wheelchair ramp.

None of this happens without the people who showed up for this family. Thank you to Valley Hope Foundation, Valley Strong Disaster Relief, Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mtns, NC Home Builders Association, and ReGroup WNC for helping make it possible.

Two years. That's how long this family waited to come back to a house that was theirs again.

The damage was massive, and insurance covered about half of what it took to fix it. The rest came from people who weren't willing to let that be the end of it: our crew, our trade partners, and neighbors who showed up and kept showing up.

We finally got to throw them a welcome home party. The video starts with the finished space, then rewinds to what it looked like when we walked in.

We are turning ten and we are taking this week to celebrate! Before the new two-story addition, before the building was blue even, Chris and Jay, and their families, set in their minds they wanted to serve the community in a way that would make them and everyone they come in contact with proud. That's helping homeowners create spaces they love coming home to, hiring passionate people and making room for them to grow with the company, connecting vendors and trade partners who make every job possible, teaching the trade to the next generation coming up behind us, showing up for our neighbors when it counts, on the job and off it and doing what we said we'd do, the way we said we'd do it.

A tree came down on this house two years ago. RJ's first job on the site survey is figuring out where the damage stops. Up top, it's the gutter, roof decking, shingles, v***r barrier, fascia, and soffit, mostly packed into one 5 to 6 foot section.

Below it, the deck has been catching runoff for two years and looks like it. RJ sticks a knife in it anyway. The tip barely goes in. No rot, so those boards stay. Small calls like that keep a scope honest.

That new tile is sitting on a floor that used to sag. When we opened up this bathroom in Asheville, the original 2x8 joists were spanning 14 feet. The old cast iron drain stack was still running all the way up through the roof.

So before anything pretty went in, the crew jacked up the center girder and rebuilt the floor framing with 2x10s. Then they laid new subfloor across the entire bathroom. The cast iron came out, both vent stacks got rerouted through the roof, and the roof got patched where they came through.

Then the good stuff. New tub and fixtures, a glass partition, full tile, a new vanity and lighting, and an all-metal pocket door so the entry doesn't eat up floor space. The work carried into the hallway and bedrooms too, with new windows, closet lighting, insulation, and crown molding to tie it all together.

None of the framing or plumbing shows up in the after shots. It's just what everything you're looking at is sitting on.
