when it comes to open-concept living, you really can have it all: a comfortable place to lounge and entertain, and a home that feels connected from one space to the next.

this Mountain Brook home is a perfect example. the living area features both a fireplace and a home wet bar, while opening directly into a beautifully finished kitchen with a spacious island and seating.

a forever favorite, our project in Mountain Brook is a great example of how grand plans are worth the wait.

after a quick DIY renovation made the house liveable for a few years, these homeowners wanted their forever home.

we accomplished this by demolishing part of the original 1950s structure to make way for a two-story addition. the reworked entry foyer is highlighted by fully wrapped walls of vertical white oak plans (which are actually concealed doors leading to the sunroom and closets).

a true highlight is the new fully custom kitchen outfitted with locally made inset cabinetry, a 48-inch Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove range and refrigerator and Calacatta marble countertop and backspace.

other updates include a newly rebuilt kids’ wing featuring a guest bedroom, home office, home gym as well as a second step-in laundry closet and other additional spaces.

an Alabama Remodeling Excellence Award winner in the Whole House Remodel Over $500,000 category, this home is truly special.

what makes for a great kitchen?

that really depends on the homeowner and what matters most to them. but there are a few details we think are hard to beat:

▫️a central island that puts the focus on cooking, entertaining, and everyday life.
▫️custom inset cabinetry, including a paneled refrigerator, with plenty of thoughtfully designed storage.
▫️a large, professional-grade range nestled beneath a decorative hood—bonus points for custom shelving built right in.
▫️a custom bar designed not only to store, but to showcase, a well-curated collection of spirits.
▫️dual dishwashers to make cleanup a little easier.

what detail is on your dream kitchen wish list?

we are excited to share this project with y’all soon! it was an absolute pleasure to work on this Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration home!

A little sneak peek at something very special coming to Vestavia Hills. 👀🏡

We’ve been so excited to watch the 2026 Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home come together — and even more excited to have Webb materials throughout this incredible project.

From the framing, lumber and subflooring that helped build the home from the ground up to the siding, windows, interior and exterior doors, and trim that bring the finished spaces to life, our Webb Concrete & Building Materials and Webb Building Essentials teams are proud to have played a part.

Built by Joe Fante and the talented team at j.fante studio, this home is full of beautiful details — and these are just a few sneak peeks of what’s to come.

The Inspiration Home opens to the public for tours this November, with a portion of ticket proceeds benefiting Big Oak Ranch, an Alabama organization that has spent more than 50 years providing loving, stable homes and hope for children in need.

We can’t wait for you to see the finished home. Until then… we’ll share a few more peeks along the way. 🤍
