Safety isn't a checkbox. It's the work itself.

In utility construction, the gap between a good crew and a dangerous one isn't just about skill. It's about discipline, preparation, and a culture that takes the standard seriously every single day. Not just during audits. Not just on new job sites. Every day.

Our training doesn't stop at annual compliance. It's ongoing because the work demands it. Live-line procedures. Underground switching and terminations. We're excited to welcome John Smola to Gridco as our Chief Growth Officer.

John brings a career built at the intersection of regulatory and rate strategy, business development, and unregulated growth business. Most recently as Vice President of Customer Solutions where he led national customer engagement, unregulated solution development, data center business development, and clean transportation strategy at the enterprise level.

He knows what it takes to build commercial platforms from the ground up, growing a portfolio from zero to over $200M in revenue and scaling a team to support it, all inside one of the most complex operating environments in the utility industry.

John joins at a pivotal moment for Gridco, and his ability to speak both the utility and commercial language, backed by deep relationships across the utility, C&I, and data center space, will open doors we're ready to walk through.

Two roles. One team. Both critical to how we operate.

We're hiring a Project Management Administrator and a Safety and Training Administrator to join the Gridco team.

A Project Management Administrator to support our operations teams with project setup, documentation, and the coordination that keeps jobs moving.

A Safety and Training Administrator to deliver front-line HSE support across an assigned region and help drive the safety culture our crews depend on.

This is why we do it the way we do it.

Chad Smith is a foreman on our underground crew at Druco. He's two months in, leading two guys, and they've already put in roughly 1,800 feet of underground transmission. Gridco's first underground job.

He came because a friend told him there was a good company hiring. He stayed because of the people.

"Everybody talks to you like a human being. Everybody's very respectful and you don't have somebody barking down your back every day. You can tell the people that work here, they're top notch."

And when asked why he works safe every day, Chad didn't hesitate.

"I'm working safe for my kids, my wife. I got three boys and my wife at home. If I can make it back home to them, that's everything."

That's the culture we're building. Not just crews that can do the work, but people who know why the work matters.

Nine months into Texas and we're putting in the work to build the same reputation here that we've built across Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

That doesn't happen overnight. It happens one job at a time, one crew at a time, one customer relationship at a time. Same standard. Same attention to detail. Same people who show up and get it done regardless of what state they're in.

We're still earning our place in this market and we know it. But the foundation we're laying here is the same one that's worked everywhere else we've operated. We're proud of that and we're committed to it.

Texas, we're here to stay.

Some things just fall into place the right way.

Wray Anderson and the Weaver brothers go back. Brad and Trent both worked alongside Wray earlier in their careers, and that history doesn't go away. When Wray saw what Gridco was building, he wanted to be part of it. We're glad he did.

What Wray brings is something you can't manufacture. He comes from deep inside the utility world and understands distribution operations from the customer side of the table. What utilities actually need from a contractor, how decisions get made, where trust is built and where it breaks down. That perspective sitting at the VP level of our distribution division makes us sharper and more accountable in the work we do every day.

His job isn't just to oversee projects. It's to make sure Gridco shows up the right way, on every distribution job, with every crew, in every customer interaction.

We're glad the relationship built over years of working together is now part of what we're building here.

Every system has its own quirks. Its own load patterns, equipment specs, switching procedures, and institutional knowledge built up over years. When crews show up without that context, things slow down or go wrong.
Our distribution teams are built around people who understand that. A lot of our leadership came up inside utilities. They know what a construction manager actually needs from a contractor, and they hire and train to that standard.

When we show up for a utility partner, the goal isn't to just knock out a work order. It's to operate like an extension of their team. That takes preparation, communication, and people who understand more than how to do the task. They understand why it matters.

That's the standard our crews show up to meet every day. And it shows in the work you put out there.

The crews who build the grid are the same people who show up for their communities.

None of what we do is possible without our crew out there every day doing the work. The infrastructure keeping schools and hospitals and homes running doesn't happen on its own. It's built by people who show up in all kinds of conditions and take pride in getting it right. It’s built by you.

A lot of those same people are working in the towns where they live, where their kids go to school, where their families are. That connection changes how you approach the job.

We're still a young company. But the people representing Gridco in the field every day are already proving that this work is about a lot more than the job site.

We don't take that for granted.
