This is honestly a hard post to make, because it is a final confirmation after months of trying to make an important decision.
🌼I will no longer be growing cut flowers. 🥹
While I love growing flowers, I also love my job outside the home as a librarian. Having an active family (with teens now!), I knew I wanted to make more time to travel and do fun things with my husband and our two girls, too.
So I spent the winter months contemplating (heavily) on how to make these adjustments.
Growing cut flowers requires a level of care that goes beyond “just gardening”. Creating beautiful bouquets and arrangements requires a large amount of time, planning, dedication, and creativity… which I love, when I’m not bombarded with all the other things in life that require my attention.
Ultimately, I knew that my personality doesn’t just allow for me to do things halfway, and it would put a huge strain on me to try and do it all. And you know I would sure try! So I’ve decided to step back from growing flowers professionally.
On the plus side, I have tulips coming up for Mothers Day (because those were in the ground last year!) If the timing works out the way I am hoping, I will have bouquets for Mothers Day, May 10th. That will be my last and only weekend open this year. I’ll share more details as we get closer into May.
It has been a pleasure growing flowers for all of you for the last four seasons. I am extremely grateful for all the support and all the love that you have had for me and my flowers.
Thank you always!
