Job Complete in Billings!

We cleared out a big overgrown section of this property to get it ready for a new fence and landscaping:

✅ Removed a elm tree
✅ Tore out the thick lilac hedge
✅ Cleared and cleaned the area so the homeowner can move forward with the new layout

The space is open now and ready for the next step. Big difference from where it started.

That ash lead did not come down clean. The storm snapped it and left the whole thing hung up in the spruce underneath, dead weight sitting in the green. We climbed in, rigged it, and pieced it out so it did not take the spruce with it.

The aspen out front came out the same day. It was growing straight up in front of the house, and once it was gone the place looked like a house again.

Job done in Billings.

That aspen out front was thin on top and sitting right off the house. Aspens do that. They put up a lot of suckers, the wood is soft, and a stump left in the ground will try to come back. We took the tree down, ground four stumps (including the ones tucked in the rock by the house), and pulled three overgrown bushes off the fence line.

Yard is open now, and those stumps will not be sending up a new clump next spring.

Silver poplar in a Billings yard.

These throw that white underside on the leaves, so the whole crown flashes when the wind hits. This one had gotten heavy over the fence line, so we went up in the bucket, thinned the weight, and cleaned the dead out.

Still a big tree. Just not hanging over the neighbor anymore.

Trimmed two ash trees… on Ash Street.

Couldn’t have planned it better. Cleaned the deadwood out, lifted the canopy off the street, and left the corner looking sharp.

Fall’s a good time to get these street trees opened up so the wind can move through instead of catching the whole crown.

Trimmed an ash and a locust in a backyard — cleaned out the deadwood, and left the place spotless.

Little fact: ash makes up about 1 in 5 of the trees in Billings parks. That’s why so many yards have one. A good trim keeps that canopy from turning into a sail when the wind comes through.

Two cottonwoods in one backyard.

One we trimmed and opened up so it wasn’t hanging over the house as heavy. The other one came all the way out — climbed it, took it down, and ground the stump.

Big difference in that yard. The tree that needed to stay looks cleaner, the one that needed to go is gone, and the stump isn’t sitting there in the grass.

That’s the kind of job we like. Do the work right and leave it looking finished.

Monday’s wind took this aspen down. It blew over toward the fence, so we came out and removed it.

The leaning stems are gone, the fence is clear, and the yard is cleaned up.
