This perennial plant is drought tolerant due to the long tap root. It thrives in dry to average conditions, full sun, and various soils typical of MT prairies and foothills.

To top it off, this plant has a long bloom time! Blooming from late spring into fall, it is also one of the larval host plants for the Silvery Checkerspot butterfly.

Thank you to all who attended the Seedling Swap this weekend! Over 100 gardeners came out to share plant starts and connect over our love of plants.

It's a great way to share your plant abundance with other gardeners in your community. Please bring labeled plants to the garden, and help others to make their gardens grow this summer!

Got (too many) plants? Bring them to the seedling swap this Saturday! If you have too many plant starts, and want to swap plants with your neighbors, this is a great opportunity to share the wealth. Please bring labeled seedlings to our free Seedling Swap, this Saturday morning, May 30th at the St. Andrew Community Garden (180 24th St. West, Billings) from 9am-11am.
