Solving major basement water issues on this project with the Trex RainEscape water mitigation system!

​The homeowners were dealing with serious basement flooding, and their first fix didn't hold up. They had screwed poly panels to the underside of the joists, which helped temporarily, but ended up trapping water inside the framing system and causing premature rot.

​The RainEscape system completely encapsulates the top of the deck framing using custom troughs, downspouts, and specialized butyl tape. The butyl tape stays pliable even after fasteners pierce through it, self-sealing around every screw to maintain a 100% watertight barrier.

​This allows us to finish the underside with a clean, custom soffit system. The result? A bone-dry, fully functional, and high-end outdoor living space underneath.
