We're thrilled to share a new project, on newstands in Luxe Interiors + Design today! Set across three levels and roughly 9,000 sq. ft., this residence balances tradition with open-concept family living. A classic brick facade and formal front rooms give way to more relaxed rear spaces — where stucco, porches, and balconies open to the yard, and the kitchen and family room become the heart of daily life. Classic at its core, the home infuses traditional architecture with a contemporary spirit, finely tuned to the rhythms of everyday living.

Much of our work lives beyond what’s built or publicly shared — projects paused by changing circumstances, or completed homes that remain private at the request of our homeowners. These projects are a meaningful part of our practice, developed through close collaboration and a high level of trust. In this month's blog post, we’re sharing a glimpse into that body of work: four unbuilt projects that reflect the same rigor, imagination, and technical depth as those that come to life.

In this month’s post, our team shares a glimpse into four unbuilt projects that reflect the same rigor, imagination, and technical depth as those that ultimately come to life on our website.

A 1927 home, reimagined for modern family life — now on our website! This English Arts & Crafts Revival project balances preservation and expansion, integrating a substantial addition while maintaining the character of the original residence and its setting. New spaces open to a generous south-facing lawn, complemented by stone-paved terraces and a new pool; while carefully crafted details add moments of surprise and richness. The result is a home that feels both rooted in tradition and thoughtfully evolved for how we live today.

This 1927 residence has been reimagined through a substantial addition and careful renovation.

In this month’s blog post, Job Captain Ben shares the transformation of a 1937 SoCal neoclassical residence, reimagined in collaboration with interior designer Sean Leffers. Working within the home’s traditional structure, our renovation introduced new ceilings, windows, doors, and architectural details that bring greater light, height, and character to each space.

In the Pacific Palisades and Altadena, architectural diversity is part of these communities' identities — a living record of culture, history, and personal stories. As we work with families to rebuild after last year’s wildfires, our goal is not only recovery, but continuity. In this month’s blog post, our Project Managers share our in-progress rebuild projects that honor both individual needs and the broader character of their streets.

Each TBA rebuilt home balances homeowners’ needs with the neighborhood architecture traditions, thoughtfully integrating fire-resilient and energy-efficient design.

Awards season has us watching films a little differently. The focus of this year’s "TBA-University" research explores how architecture and space influence storytelling — and how those scenes inspire our own work. Learn more in Tim's new blog post.

This year, 2026, we explore "Architecture and Film". Each teammate has chosen a film to watch and analyze, sharing how the film’s depiction of architecture, place, or space has inspired them to think differently about our work.

Small acts, big impact. This holiday season, the need for giving is high — and so is the need for connection. We’re leaning into ordinary ways to give back to, and connect with, our community. See David’s reflections in our latest blog post.

Over the past several months, our team at Tim Barber Architects has focused its extracurricular energy on giving back to the community.

Alongside builder Shain Development, Inc., landscape designer LZ Design Group, and interior designer Joy Stowell Designs, we brought to life a new equestrian-inspired farmhouse grounded in simplicity, functionality, and a strong connection to its surroundings. See our newest blog post celebrating this nearly completed home and the design moments that define it.

In our newest blog post, Principal & Director of Design Kelly reflects on our role and responsibility to our communities to design timeless, resilient homes that are built to withstand environmental pressures of a changing climate. Learn about our firm's research and integration of fire-resilient features into the homes we create.

We reflect on our role and responsibility to our community. It is not enough to merely design to current code; homes must also be built to withstand the environmental pressures of a changing climate.

As LA and its surrounding communities recover from recent fires, we recognize that true resilience isn’t just about the materials with which we build — it’s about the strength of the people who live here. Read David's blog post about the necessity for community involvement to rebuild a fire-resilient city.

Los Angeles is now, and forever will be, a city shaped by fire. But in this moment of recovery we have an opportunity: to rethink how we coexist with nature.

Friends, collaborators, and homeowners across our city have lost everything, many of which were homes we designed together. Words can’t begin to capture how heartbreaking this is. To be useful in midst of the tragedy, our team has compiled ways we can make a difference right now:

Join or donate to the Red Cross or LAIT911's disaster response and recovery team.

Donate to organizations like Wildlife Recovery Fund or LA Fire Department Foundation.

Foster a pet from a displaced pet owner through LA County Animal Care & Control or LA Animal Services; or donate to one of the many shelters housing them.
