“Exceptional Craftsmanship- Superior Quality- Remarkable Results”- That’s the BCC way!
Before and after on this stunning basement fitout! This project featured many elements and details that changed this space from a blank slate to a beautiful family/living area.
This project included many MEP upgrades, including cutting/jackhammering out and then later re-concreting a portion of the slab to rough in for a new basement powder room. A new pressure reducing valve (PRV) was added into the incoming water service with dual isolation valves, dual unions, and an inline pressure guage to make future maintenance easy and accessible. All water line work was done with either Viega Copper Pro-Press or Viega Pureflow Pex. Ductwork and a new vent van were installed, along with new ceiling registers.
Our licensed electrical subcontractor took care of a plethora of electrical upgrades! A new 100 amp subpanel was added. A 50 amp generator connection with a square d interlock device was also installed. LED lighting was utilized throughout the entire space, all controlled with Leviton Diva Dimmers. A low voltage lighting system was added in the built ins for feature lighting dedicated 20 amp circuits were added at the dry bar and the gym area, as well as dedicated circuits for the refrigerator and the fireplace. A recessed data and power box was installed behind the TV. In addition to all the new electrical work, our electrician also took the time to correct some existing circuitry and wiring problems made by the original builder to make the home safer.
The entire basement was insulated with 2 inch polyiso foam continuous insulation to meet the current energy code requirement of continuous insulation. Walls were 2 by 4 framed with code required pressure treated bottom plates. Drywall was hung and finished to a minimum of level 4, with some areas receiving a level 5 finish. Paint was all Sherwin Williams, the wall color was “Comfort Gray”. An acoustical suspended ceiling was installed using Armstrong Prelude grid and Armstrong Sahara Tegular ceiling tiles. The flooring was commercial luxury vinyl plank, Coretec Pro Plus in Duxbury Oak.
Built ins, the mantle, and the bar cabinetry were 100% custom and 100% built in house, from design, fabrication, finishing, and installation! The builder grade staircase was completely transformed with beautiful stained oak treads and painted risers. The owners safe was built into a custom “strong closet”. The doors were all custom ordered and hung to meet project specifications, including the solid core door on the safe closet. The casing profile was a solid wood eased 2 edge casing we custom milled in house! Baseboard was a solid wood tall beaded profile. The stairwell walls and electrical closet were finished with solid wood nickel gap shiplap.
