🌧️ Pro Tip: Don’t cut grass in the rain. 😅😮‍💨😂

But if you absolutely have to, here are a few things that’ll save you a headache:

🌱 Raise your mower deck a little higher than normal. Wet ground is softer, your mower sinks more, and cutting too low can scalp the lawn.

✂️ Make sure your blades are sharp. Dull blades tear wet grass instead of cutting it cleanly.

🛞 Keep your tire pressure at the proper specs to help minimize ruts and uneven cutting.

🧴 Spray a dry lubricant under your mower deck to help prevent wet clippings from sticking and clogging the deck.

🔄 Be prepared to double-cut. Wet grass tends to clump, so a second pass and a good blow-off will leave a much cleaner finish.

🧹 Avoid driving across concrete with wet mower tires—they can leave stains. Blow off any clippings and debris from sidewalks and driveways before you leave.

🌿 When w**d whacking around fences, siding, vehicles, or other personal property, angle the trimmer about 15° and direct debris away from anything that could be damaged.

A little extra patience goes a long way. Your customers—and their lawn—will thank you. 💚

There’s something satisfying about restoring old craftsmanship instead of replacing it.

This sidewalk had several cracked, missing and damaged bricks, but instead of installing new brick that would’ve stood out, I carefully sourced older reclaimed red brick to match the original color, texture, and profile. The goal wasn’t to make it look new—it was to make it look like it had always belonged there.

After replacing the damaged sections, I removed the failing mortar, repointed all the cracks with fresh mortar, and brought the entire walkway back to life. The finished product blends beautifully with the existing brick while restoring its strength and curb appeal.

It’s the little details that make the biggest difference. Matching materials, clean mortar joints, and taking the extra time to do it right—that’s what quality craftsmanship is all about.

Propagation is life. I’ve always wanted a Weeping Willow Tree (Salix babylonica). Now I have 8 😅😂🌱

🌳 They grow incredibly fast.
A young weeping willow can grow 6–10 feet in a single year under ideal conditions, making it one of the fastest-growing shade trees.

💧 They’re natural water seekers.
Their roots aggressively search for water, which is why you’ll often find them along rivers, ponds, and lakes. They can even help stabilize stream banks and reduce erosion.

🌿 They can grow from a stick.
Cut off a healthy branch, place it in moist soil or water, and it can develop roots. Willows are among the easiest trees to propagate.

💊 They’re related to aspirin.
Willow bark contains salicin, a natural compound that inspired the development of aspirin. People have used willow bark for pain relief for thousands of years.

🦋 They support wildlife.
Willows provide food for hundreds of insect species, including caterpillars that later become butterflies and moths. Birds also use their long branches for nesting.

🐝 They’re important for bees.
In early spring, willow catkins are one of the first major pollen sources available for bees emerging after winter.

🌬️ Their branches “dance” in the wind.
The long, flexible branches sway gracefully, giving the tree its iconic weeping appearance and making it one of the most recognizable ornamental trees.

🌎 They’re ancient.
Willows have existed for millions of years, with fossil evidence showing they were growing alongside dinosaurs’ descendants long before humans appeared.

🌱 They help clean the environment.
Willows are often used in phytoremediation, meaning they can absorb excess nutrients and even some pollutants from soil and water.

This project has been more than just a landscape renovation—it’s been a journey.

First and foremost, I want to thank these homeowners for their incredible patience, trust, and willingness to give me creative freedom. They allowed me to take a vision from paper and turn it into reality, while also giving me the opportunity to incorporate new skills and techniques I’ve been learning along the way.

The truth is, growth comes with challenges. I’ve hit a few bumps, learned some lessons, and dropped the ball on a couple occasions. But one thing I believe wholeheartedly is that when mistakes happen, you don’t run from them—you make them right. That’s the difference. I will always stand behind my work and do whatever it takes to deliver the finished product my customers deserve.

This complete redesign features:

🌱 Three blended mixes of premium farm-grade soil
🧱 Cobblestone accents throughout
🌾 W**d barrier installation
🌳 Double spiral topiary

🍁 Weeping Japanese Maple
🌳 Pom-pom topiaries and numerous ornamental plantings
🪏 Numerous new raised beds & more.

Every curve, planting, and stone placement was thoughtfully designed with balance, flow, and feng shui principles in mind. The centerpiece will soon be a custom concrete bench nestled within the curved garden, creating a beautiful place for this family to sit, gather, and capture memories year after year.

We’re not finished yet, but seeing the transformation from the original space to where it stands today has me incredibly excited for the final reveal.
